NETGEAR - Nighthawk 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem

Yeah, purchasing a refurb is taking a chance but at this price I opted to try this one. The whole setup went as instructed. I am using Xfinity service and went through the online chat stuff on my phone. Process is slow. From start to finish with rep took 45 minutes and we were activated. I did add the 3 year protection plan. I would do it again if needed.

I get internet that goes real fast. I search the interwebs flawlessly.

No power..do not buy anything from Amazon and this company. Just juck go to Walmart

Working well so far the last few days. Looks brand new but was clearly opened previously as expected. Still had the protective sticker on the front. No issues setting it up. Getting full speed internet that I'm paying for. Hopefully there's no issues in the long run

It worked perfectly as expected. Easy to setup with Xfinity. Please note this is just a bridge, not a router, so don't buy this if you are looking for a cable modem+router. This is just a cable modem. You will need a separate wifi and/or wired router connected to this to get your devices online.

The seller was Verdi, NOT Netgear as advertised in the Amazon ad!?!! When a minor log entry reoccurrence surfaced, I contacted Netgear. The log entry I'd noted did not indicate any modem problem. However, they noted that Verdi is NOT an authorized reseller or refurb center! Amazon should have caught this!!Now it seems that I am on my own. I'll update with whatever course Amazon suggests...______________________________________________________________________________________________Verdi and Amazon are working the confusing ad content out. Verdi did refund $15 and is honoring the 90 day warranty. Still, I'd get the factory refurb for sure!

Amazon offered me a deal on this refurbished modem. Inside the box were instructions to go to xfinity.com/activate to get it working. On the Xfinity website I was directed to install their app, which I did on my phone. After logging in I scrolled down to the 'Got new equipment to set up?', selected 'activate now,' and entered the CM MAC address of my new modem. Then I hooked it up to an AC power outlet & the cable. There's no power switch, it's just on if it's plugged in.The app then told me to wait about 11 minutes, but it didn't take Xfinity quite that long to find it. The the app said to wait about 5 minutes for activation. That 2nd step completed within the 5 minutes stated.Then I hooked my wireless router (an eero Pro 6E) to it and within 3-4 minutes the router's light turned white and the internet was working perfectly!One thing to consider..... if you don't have a decent cell signal in your home I don't know if this procedure will work because when you disconnect your old modem you will not be able to use wifi calling on your phone and your phone has to be connected to a data channel to complete the modem's setup.I don't understand the other reviews here that had so many problems with activation. For me, activation was super easy and the connection has been completely without any interruptions so far.
