The set up was very simple, I like the app you can choose which speed for each device so if you have a older device and it only works on 2.4 GHz or 5GHz than you can apply it for that device only and if you have newer devices that work with 6GHz or faster then that device is dedicated to that speed you choose , finally a router for all your new and older devices with out sacrificing speed simply amazing I also like the security it offers for every device that is connected to wifi or ethernet. Highly recommend this router!

The 5GHz band on this router is insane, reaching extremely high speeds, in the range of 500-700mbps, even if you are a bit far away. The 6GHz band is only "meh" in my opinion. The range isn't the best, and even though you can consistently get 750-850mbps when close enough, it simply doesn't reach far enough to make it worth using in most cases.I think this device is great if you have mostly WiFi-6 or WiFi-5 devices (WiFi-6 only supports 5GHz while WiFi-6e supports 6GHz) and a few WiFi-6e devices that are within close range of the router. The 5GHz performance is very hard to beat.As for the web panel, I don't dislike it at all. It is much more in-depth than my Linksys router was and lets you configure things a lot easier. Additionally, it doesn't take forever to change the settings or constantly insist on restarting the router to change settings that shouldn't need a router reboot (looking at you, Linksys!) However, I do not like how it pushes you to make a cloud account and use it through the mobile app and that it pushes you to use the mobile app even during initial setup. I don't want my router connected to your servers, and in my opinion, this should not be a requirement to use the mobile app.Overall, great 5GHz performance with only meh 6GHz performance. Works great, is reliable, and has great coverage, well, at least on the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands.

Typical 0 stars if I could. Product quality and overall renewal was great. Upon hooking everything up, it seemed to work for roughly 30 seconds. However after that, the internet connection failed, and refused to come back. So, I called Netgear, stumped. They "registered" the product, and informed me that I needed to activate a $185/5-year, or $360/Lifetime security package to use the router. I told them I didn't need any of the extra security features, but was denied, and hung up on four times. Will be returning this unit, and trashing the Netgear hardware that I currently have. Save yourself the hassle, and steer clear of Netgear. The customer service was rude, impatient, and disrespectful. And as for this unit, the images say it requires a subscription for the security features, but Netgear wouldn't allow me to use the unit AT ALL without the subscription. Very disappointed.

This router is much larger than it appears online. It takes up a ton of space and if you don't love the design of it then I'd look elsewhere. I've been testing many routers and this one did about the same as the others but took up twice as much space. I have 1GB speed and over wifi I get consistent upload/download speeds in parallel. Sometimes the upload is faster than the download (often). At distance, however, the speed suffers even in a small apartment. I tested other routers that were much better at distance than this one. The 6E band is a nice to have, but most devices don't use it yet nor does the band even show as available. Check to see if your devices have 6Ghz compatibility first before getting a 6E router as you might be overbuying.

It was a little larger than I anticipated. I guess I should’ve paid more attention to the dimensions that were given in the product specs. Other than that works as advertised maybe even better !, it took my streaming speed up 20 times from 100 Mbps to over 1000 constant megabits per second !!I’ve been able to get direct speed from my modem at 2.4 GIGs a second which is outstanding my company offers 3 gigs meaning we almost get the full three gigs there’s no way we could’ve done that with our old router and modem combination. I went ahead and paired this with the nighthawk CM 2000 cable modem as it was one of only two that were approved by my cable company here in Alaska oh that’s right I live in Alaska so that Internet speed is even that much more important when gaming online!!, oh and my online gaming friends have said my speed has picked up tremendously and then I’m harder to hit now and I’ve noticed when I’m playing them, I can actually kill them when I shoot them instead of them being already in front of my aim where I have to actually lead them because of my poor Internet pinging 😔 , speaking of ping it went from 18 average to 8 average, which is huge when you’re playing online, especially with people all over the world ! In closing I would recommend this router to anybody and the best part was, I got it fully renewed and refurbished for only $150 and it looks brand new when it showed up works brand new and back by 30 day Amazon warranty so I could not be happier thank you Netgear for the Nighthawk series.❤️❤️❤️
