Exceptional Versatility and Performance: Dap 18836 DAPtex Plus Ltx Foam Sealant
I recently had the opportunity to use the Dap 18836 DAPtex Plus Ltx Foam Sealant, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. Here’s a detailed review of my experience with this product:Ease of Application: The foam sealant was incredibly easy to apply. The consistency was perfect, allowing for smooth and even application without any mess. It adhered well to various surfaces, including wood, concrete, and metal, making it versatile for different projects around the house.Quick Drying Time: One of the standout features of this sealant is its quick drying time. Within just a few minutes, it began to set, which significantly sped up my project timeline. This is a huge plus for anyone looking to complete their tasks efficiently.Durability and Flexibility: After drying, the foam formed a durable and flexible seal that has held up remarkably well. It has withstood various weather conditions without cracking or peeling, which speaks volumes about its quality. The flexibility ensures that it can accommodate any movement or expansion in the materials it is applied to.Aesthetic Finish: The white color of the foam blends seamlessly with most surfaces, providing a clean and professional finish. It doesn't shine through or discolor the paint, which is crucial for achieving a flawless look. The end result was a smooth, neat, and aesthetically pleasing seal that enhanced the overall appearance of my project.Low Odor and Easy Cleanup: Another great feature is the low odor, which made the application process much more pleasant. Cleanup was a breeze with just water, making it convenient and hassle-free.Versatility: Whether it's sealing windows, doors, baseboards, or vents, this foam sealant has proven to be incredibly versatile. It has become my go-to product for various sealing needs around the house.Fragility: While the foam sealant is functional and aesthetically pleasing, it is somewhat fragile. If you are a careful person, this shouldn't be an issue. However, in a busy environment with a lot of activity, I doubt it will last long. The lightweight construction means it can be easily knocked over or damaged if not handled with care.In conclusion, the Dap 18836 DAPtex Plus Ltx Foam Sealant has impressed me with its exceptional quality, ease of use, and reliable performance. It has made my DIY projects smoother and more efficient, and I couldn't be happier with the results. This product truly stands out in terms of durability, flexibility, and overall effectiveness.

Easy cleanup
Better than the other stuff I used before.. Easy to spread. Easier clean up. Love it.

Easy application, filled well.
Used this to fill around a ceiling box that I retrofit into an oversized existing opening (think round peg into a square hole); opening was too big to just cram spackling in. Sprayed this in and shaped it per instructions. It didn't cure as smooth as I'd hoped, so I spackled over it, sanded, and painted. Did the job and I'd use it again.

Easy to use...
Great stuff, does not expand like other poly foams. Water clean up..that's +++

DID NOT WORK FOR ME
I bought this to fill in an area of my rocker panel that had rusted out and I needed structure behind it. I did this whenever it was 69° outside and 50% humidity and figured it would harden up within at least a few hours. It never hardened up over 4 days. I had to dig and dig and dig to get it all out of there because it was wet inside the rocker panel. So this has made the situation that I have even worse because I couldn't get to some of it and it's still in there wet. Not happy at all and it's non-returnable

This stuff is great if you know how and where to use it
I have used this stuff for years - the negative reviews are from folks who don't understand what this stuff is and how to use it. There's "large gap/expanding" foam that's good for large openings where you're not concerned about bending/warping trim (or framing); "window/door" foam (less expansion) which is used for sealing around window/door framing (adhesive, waterproof and minimally expanding - won't bow out the sills or door frame - which is crucial); and this stuff, which I have used for years for INTERIOR sealing - small gaps, around ductwork, plumbing, electrical boxes, etc. It hardly expands at all, cleans up with water (is reusable), you can tool it with your fingers, and as long as it's not disturbed (like under trim, or the a/c register) holds up well. WAY better than white caulk for air sealing and VERY useful as along as you know what it is and use it correctly.
