WOW --get the deluxe version, this game is that RAD!!!this is a stand alone version, with Zero Hour as a expansion--yes get the expanstion as well--for the added options.its a very good game even without Zero Hour--but why deprive yourself!?!the super wepons are more realistic, than in red alert 2. That was the only thing RA2 really needed to impove on --an they did with this game.you choose a general to fight as---EACH with their own army style--ie.. tank genral has all tanks at a lower production cost, limited air force. Air force general has all aircraft available at a reduced perduction cost, an fewer tanks, an tanks costing a bit more. get the idealoh, an they have a army general that uses booby traps, and underground bunkers, build one bunker an put 5 tanks in it--then build another bunker elsewere---like near enemy lines--an 5 tanks drive out at your command.better looking gameplay-more missle trails, brighter colors- more real looking flames, crisp sound, ingaging musicyes, I truly enjoy this game, more than any other pc game I ownthat says a lot concidering i have sooo many to choose from

Interesting
This was my first entry into Command and Conquer. I would say that overall its fun to a point.I have only played the solo games for the Chinese, Americans and the GLA. Each group has it's specialities and different approaches to combat. The Americans with air power and technology. For example a partical beam that can be considered overwhelming as it can strike at things such as the GLA scud storm. The Chinese with their numbers and tank rush strategies. The GLA with their chemical weapons and stealth and tunnels. The plot lines were pretty basic. Build up and deny supplies to the enemy. Destroy the power weapons, etc. Though I must admit the same strategy couldn't be used all the time. The AI at times did not put up much of a fight. The only really aggressive stance was the final fight of the Chinese with the GLA where scud storms kept falling. Attacks are pretty much serial and at one place. There were no two pronged attacks for example.Even though the AI was ok; I still found the game interesting enough that I wanted to play each of the armies.I liked it enough to look into the other games.....O

Seriously excellent war game scenarios
Seriously excellent war game scenarios. You feel like you are in the middle of the action because you are the center of the action. Try out different scenarios, a zillion combinations. If I need an intense hour ride, I play myself and two allies against three enemy opponents on the brutal level. Will get your blood pumping. Price is a bargain. Dave Harding

Good game, but severely taxes your system
Right off the bat: this is a good game. Just like all C&C games before it, the core gameplay is the same, with some differences. For starters, you can now upgrade units with enhanced technology (like upgrading weapons in Warcraft). Many units have their own individual upgrades that enhance abilities as well. There are 3 sides: China, USA, and a world Liberation Army, which are Middle Eastern terrorists. The sides in this game are far more realistic now than they have been in past C&C games, and that makes for interesting warfare during the game. Battles can span anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours, and they are often very fun and challenging. Each side is fundamentally different and it will take some time getting used to all sides, as well as trying to master them. Each side has its own campaign to get through with a story to go along with it. Unlike previous C&C games, there are no cinematics between missions. Everything is told to you as you play.Despite the fact that this is a good game, there is one problem with it that just takes the quality of it down completely: the severely high requirements it has for gameplay. I am running a top of the line system, as of August 2003 barely a year old, and Generals runs so slowly you would think that its running on a 486. I don't know why the game runs so poorly, considering the high end technology I have in my computer. Having played the game on other computers I have noticed the same thing. It just demands far too much. Unfortunately sacrifices must be made, and to run the game efficiently you will have to scale the graphics down so much that they will look severely outdated, almost looking like the old C&C games from way back in the day. The fact that this game runs so slowly on a P4, 2.0 gig with 1.2 gig ram and a GeForce 5 video card is mind-boggling. This also makes for extremely slow on-line play.Unfortunately this rather good game is marred by its tremendous system requirements. Had it not been designed ahead of its time, it would have ran more smoothly and would have been an overall better game experience. Regardless, I enjoy the game and any C&C fan will too.

Best Command and Conquer Yet!
Generals is the best Command and Conquer yet. It has three unique and equal armies to choose from. When I play online, China seems to be the most popular. The graphics have improved from Red Alert 2 and you cant say anything about this game until you have seen a nuke go off in an enemies base. Dont waste your money on this game if you dont have a newer computer. It has HIGH system requirements. Save your money and upgrade your computer or buy a new one. This is a great game and playing online is lots of fun. 5 Stars!

It didn’t work.
I didn’t like this product at all. It didn’t work, it would download on the computer but wouldn’t let you do anything else. I want to return it but the person will not email me back so I can return it to them.
