Excellent value and works well.
The media could not be loaded. As usual, assembly instructions could be better. I’m experienced with optical equipment, and assembly was still vaguely described, with lots of leftover parts. Some of the parts were deemed “extra” in the manual. The quality of the build is of medium quality, but the price makes the value an excellent one. The led is adjustable and provides a bright image. Eye relief is typical for magnification eyepieces. For example if you have a 10mm eyepiece, your eye will need to be 10mm away from the lens surface to properly utilize the field of view and magnification power. Other adjustable aspects include binocular widening of the eyepieces just like regular binoculars, and the stereoscopic effects are accurate. The achromatic lens prevents ghost colors and the image is clear without distortion. The scope includes a Barlow lens, which allows the lens to be farther away from the piece you’re looking at for working space. If you need more magnification there are Barlows for increasing magnification that decrease work space and field of view. The mount is a little clumsy to install, but that’s not an issue I’d consider for my decision to purchase (all of these types of microscopes with extended arms are awkward). The manual assumes you know what you’re doing, and that you know how to use a microscope, so don’t expect a tutorial in the manual. There are videos available for example use cases elsewhere. Overall, the price, build quality and scope performance is an excellent value for beginner and pros alike.

Missing parts
Scope was well packed but missing 2 of the 3 wing bolts that holds the scope to the base. Also no detailed instructions on how to use the scope itself. Looks like u tube for instructions.

Great for electronic solder work.
Provides proper magnification for working with surface mount components. It leaves plenty of room for maneuvering tooling around the circuit board and, unlike camera based units, the view is three dimensional helping with dexterity. The "boom" is stable and stays where needed even when working on relatively large circuit boards.

Decent microscope for the price, needs some improvements.
Let me start by saying that a microscope that has a flex arm like this, and that works, for this price, is a win. If you are just starting out and arent 100% sure on if whatever you are going to be using a microscope for and dont want to spend the big money on a leica or something, this is definitely a great option. The instruction book is very limited, like literally only explains how to put the stand together and not very great even at that. There was no instructions for the actual microscope in the box or on vevors site. Luckily if you take a little time it should make sense, or you can look at other scopes and get an idea. One hint, to get the eye pieces to lock on, there is some tiny little screws where the slide in, they blend in, you have to loosen them, slide in the eyepieces, then screw those back in to secure those. Next, the stand is solid, for the price. I wish the part to move the scope into focus was easier to move. Also wish that the rest of the tension arms held tension better. But again for the price, overall I cant complain. And its actual microscope quality is solid. Im using it for engraving and stone setting.

I can see!
I will start off by saying I'm older and the eye's aren't what they use to be. I am a hobby jeweler and I'm always looking to learn new skills. So when I started to try my hand at stone setting and prong setting, I realized I needed a lot more magnification that the old Optivisor. I read the other reviews on Amazon and decided to give it a shot. I am glad I did. The set up was easy. The arm feels nice a sturdy, the optics are great, and I didn't go into debt just to have a good microscope. I can't speak to where this lies compared to other jeweler microscopes, however I can tell you that I can see the details necessary to set a stone now. I am very happy with this purchase. Now I just want to find silicone dust cover's for all the lenses.

Yes, do it!
I purchased this since I make jewelry as a hobby and wanted to flush set stones. I couldn’t find much else and couldn’t justify the expense of a Leica or Meiji.I purposefully waited before leaving a review until I had time to *really* use it.YES!! It’s fantastic! I don’t have one single complaint. The focal distance leaves enough room for tools with a piece mounted in a vise. I purchased a ring light in addition and the two work perfectly together.Based on what I can tell, this is a Leica but without the smoothness of that system. Don’t get me wrong, it’s simple to adjust both while working or to push out of the way when not in use. There isn’t anything I can’t do with it that I would be capable of doing with a $2K unit. The seller was always instantly responsive to my inquiries and I contacted them a few times with questions. This is a Hyundai versus Lexus thing. Both have four wheels and will get you from point A to point B and get the job done. If you’d like all the bells and whistles and smoothness for your ride then spend more money on a name brand. If you want a functional system that performs what you need it to perfectly well while paying 15% of the total cost of the competitors? This is your machine.
