Long lasting

1st unit DOA. Replacement unit also DOA
I’ve ordered two of these pieces of junk (the 2nd to replace the 1st) from seller ” AIDITIYMI” whose Amazon profile states that it “specializes in research and development, production, and sales of remote controls.” I doubt that they actually test the products they import and sell because the odds of getting two randomly selected bad units in a row seems high to me. The 1st unit they sold me was dead on arrival and the 2nd replacement unit demonstrated an “always-ON” state - but without actually transmitting a pulsed IR signal to the TV - just a constantly illuminated IR-LED.I tested them using an LED emission detector (the detector part of an IR Repeater Kit) as well as the camera on my smartphone - both of which confirmed that nothing was being transmitted with any button press of the remote. And yes, fresh batteries were installed. Admittedly, these were cheap units - but I’m surprised that Amazon tolerates vendors that sell non-functional cheap things.

Worked perfectly
We have a 2012 TCL TV we bought without the remote and got sick of using the side buttons on the TV. Bought this and installed batteries, and boom - works like new.
