WOW! What a difference from rattle cans
For Surface Shield this is PERFECT! Last year i used 12 rattle cans, it took me 6 hours and I was covered in the stuff. The attachments were terrible and the it was not a pleasant experience. This year I bought the gun and oh man what a difference. It took me less than 2 hours and the experience was streamlined and quick. If you are debating, don’t. This is the only way to apply lanolin based undercoating.

Excellent Undercoating Sprayer!
Excellent for Krown touch ups or even full sprays! I bought this and a gallon of Krown to do touch ups throughout the year on my trucks. I pay to have Krown done, but I like to treat certain more exposed areas with more Krown. This applicator does the trick! You do need a large compressor (60+ gallon!).

First time - woolwax
Honestly, I really only new the basics of this procedure when I had a pro work on my truck and should have watched a few videos before I attempted it... so take this opinion as from someone that has no prior experience doing it, nor did I tale more than 3 minutes of research before attempting to do it. I was also using woolwax for the first time with a sprayer and used the same level of diligent and thorough research, as well. I will also note that I procrastinated on doing this job, so I am trying to undercoat my 2005 Sprinter campervan in 40 degree weather before it snowed in early December! I was also using a small 1-gallon California Air Tools CAT-1P1060SP compressor (It is a great compressor) which has a max of 100 PSI and it ran all of the time. I also forgot to get plumbing thread tape. OK, I was an idiot…Anyway, despite being an idiot, I have certain 'mechanical abilities', gleaned from years of mistakes, it was fairly easy to put it together. It is a nice tool, and reminds me of sprayers from 30 years ago, the bowl is aluminum and the rest of the tool steel parts except for the gaskets and plastic gap hoses. At that point my complaint that the air sprayer fittings were loose at where the pressure regulator is and they did not really stay tight... and it was probably my fault, as I forgot plumbers tape. After everything was all set, I poured some slightly warm wool wax into the bowl and it would not eject from the nozzle, I decided to heat up the bowl in boiling water on the camper stove and got it to start to mildly boil and miraculously I did not spill anything or burn myself. Did it work, yes but the nozzle or the flow adjustment was difficult at first and then when I almost had the nozzle adjustment turned all the way up, I finally got it to work.I sprayed it on fairly thick and I went through a gallon of woolwax and it took me 3 hours total, as I had to heat up the woolwax every time. The only thing that did not work well, 1. I thought was the nozzle flow adjustment was not that good or I just did not know what I was doing. 2. I needed to have the bowl vertically or full o product (woolwax) to work well. Also, the extension wands coverage was not very good but this may because the woolwax was too thick, even when fully heated.I am glad I bought it and I will use it again and hopefully get more proficient at it. I think I did a better job than my pro did on my truck..

rustproofing is the life of the vehicle
worked great !!!!! I sprayed rustproofing material inside my chevy truck frame and rocker panels. I should add that you should heat the material being sprayed, it works much better than cold. I used an old pressure cooker without putting the lid on, kinda like an instapot. i melted tubes of grease, transmission fluid, toilet bowl wax rings, boiled linseed oil, used motor oil and vasaline. I know that sounds crazy, but it worked great. i heated all that until melted and let it cool just a little then sprayed it through this gun. I was impressed, when done i ran mineral spirits through the gun. if you dont want to make that brew, i would buy surface shield and warm it up a little. you can buy it by the gallon or 5 gallon on amazon. hope this helps someone
