Works great, the board inside is marked as another major brand soft start. Does not come with fancy mesh wire loom or adhesive tape. My inrush current on a Colman Mach 8 gen 1 was 37.5 amps prior to installation, post installation my inrush was 20.7 amps, with much quieter starts ups. Make sure you use correct instructions, STA01 and STA02 use different wires, I was so confused until I noticed there were directions for STA02 on their website. Basically one has 4 wires one has 5 wires along with different color wires, this is what was messing me up till I found correct directions, then it all made perfect sense.

I don’t typically write reviews but this deserves one. Just installed this unit with a Coleman Mach 15 model 48254-069 AC. Wiring is simple after watching a “Soft Start RV” video. Only difficulty is mounting it since not much room to drill or put in the self tapping screws. Using some kind of 90 degree drill accessory would make it easier. Started up my AC on a regular 30 amp circuit to make sure everything worked. Then fired up a Coleman PM2200i inverter generator (2200 watts peak, 1700 watts continuous) and things are still “golden”.Ran AC on generator for 10-15 mins. Hoping when I need to run in hotter conditions and for longer periods that it keeps going.

It works great. Stays steady at 12.1 amps. I can run it off a normal 15 amp plug, my small generator or even my inverter charger with a 300 ah battery I figure will run it for a few hours.

So far, it is working well! The generator doesn’t bog down as badly on start up and the unit is quieter when the compressor kicks on and off. You can’t beat the quality, especially with the price!

My new 4800 surge 4000 running watt WEN df480ix generator would not reliably start the AC even with nothing else running. After installing this device it reliably starts now even with the fridge running or in eco mode although I probably wouldn't do that often as it seems hard on the generator. Installation was ok after watching a youtube video and making sure the wire colors were correct for my Dometic Brisk 2 AC unit. This unit is bigger than the popular brands and there was no way to fit it using the screw holes so I had to link a bunch of zip ties and secure it in place with those. I haven't taken the camper out yet so we will see if triple linked zip ties hold up to the bumps.

installed easily and cut start amp surge in less than half making my 2200 W generator happy to pull the load. As others have said, the PCB is marked as the real thing.

Seems to do what it’s supposed to. At least for the moment. Have not used it long enough. It does keep the compressor and fan from coming on at the same time which helps lower amperage use. Was not too hard to wire in. Just watched some videos to really help.
