Awesome for watching shows from a laptop!
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but it seems like the number of commercials on ad-supported streaming subscriptions has increased a lot recently. There are so many now that I get very annoyed watching anything from my Roku or FireTV sticks. However, I noticed that when I watch anything on my computer, the AdGuard browser extension does a pretty good job of blocking the advertisements (maybe 70-80%, some still get through). As such, I've been using my laptop with an HDMI cable to watch shows lately, but then I had to either use a big wireless keyboard and mouse, or get up to pick/pause/play each show I wanted to watch. That's where this remote comes into the picture.I was a little skeptical whether or not it would work for me since the product listing didn't give a very good description of how to use it with the computer, other than a USB dongle was included. When it arrived without any instructions, I was even more skeptical, as I would have to learn how it worked by trial and error. The USB dongle was in the battery compartment, which I found when putting in the 2 AAA batteries (not included) to power the remote. I plugged the USB dongle into my Windows 11 PC and started pushing buttons. Nothing happened. I opened settings, then devices, where I found the dongle showed up as an input device with a keyboard icon, and there was a "Driver Error". My next step was to open the Device Manager to see if I could find out a little more and update the driver. Sparing the details, I wasn't able to find out the cause of the error, nor was I able to find any updated drivers using the troubleshooter, which searched for them from Windows Update. I was about to give up when I tried unplugging the dongle and re-inserting it into the USB port. Presto! For me, the Home button opens my browser, the mouse button turns on/off moving the mouse pointer via the up/down/left/right buttons, and the OK button triggers a mouse click. The hamburger menu button does exactly the same as pressing the menu button on the keyboard, and as far as I can tell, the power and back buttons don't do anything. The volume buttons behave as expected, adjusting system volume up or down. While it was a little tricky getting past the driver error and figuring out how to use it, I'm super impressed with how well this remote works. I mostly just use the arrow buttons and OK to move the mouse and click, but that's worlds better than getting up all the time to pause and resume a show for each of life's little interruptions. I'm really glad I took a chance on this remote and didn't give up when it didn't work on the first try!

Great for do-it-yourself Android TV
All the commercial TV streaming boxes are proprietary. Whether you choose Roku, Fire TV, or Google ONN, they're all proprietary platforms designed to work with their own plug-ins from their own stores. Generic boxes on the market are usually Android based, and there's a lot of Android plug-ins for television streaming. Some people prefer to roll their own, or may have purchased something that doesn't have any real manufacturer support. A Raspberry Pi works well, but an old PC is fine too. Some of the Android boxes use a Bluetooth remote. If what you need is a generic wireless remote that will work with your current hardware, no matter what it is, the PZL 2.4G universal remote is a good choice. It's a small, light remote. The buttons feel positive, And to be sure it works with your setup, you don't have to figure out how to pair it, It comes with its own 2,4 GHz USB receiver. Plug the receiver into your android TV box and it will be ready to go with most setups. If you're using an old PC for a streaming box, you don't have to worry about whether it has Bluetooth or WiFi, since this remote works independently of those things. It's very inexpensive and a great way to add a remote to your streaming box,
