Awesome experience, makes me want to type on it and customize it

I have never liked most of the laptop or short travel keyboard I have used. They were so cramped and very uncomfortable to type on. This Keychron V6 Max mechanical Keyboard is awesome. Customizable lighting, from colors to patterns, and a good heavy feel to it. The keyboard doesn't feel like it will rattle away from you as you type on it. The brown tactile keys that I bought feel great without being louder than the laptop keyboard I had. The mechanical feel is just theraputic and the key travel isn't as much as I remembered the cheap one I grew up with 15-20 years ago. Wish I would have bought one before. I plan to use it for photo editing and light coding. The full 102+ key keyboard layout is awesome and spacious. the laptop key boards aren't comfortable to type on in the lap, cuz you gotta balance it all, the stand alone keys are much better. Full sized keys helps with the typing experience. I also had a BT logitech k380 before and it had very stiff keys, were these just fall at the right pressure. Because it is hot key swapable and customizable, in both layout and the type of keys after the purchase, I look forward to rearranging some keys. I came from a Windows and moving to a mac so somethings aren't in the right spot lol. The brown keys are not loud by any stretch, I wonder what the banana (clicky) keys feel like, but the I am glad I did not get the red (linear) keys. I like the tactile feel for sure. Let's me know I got the key pressed without having to slam it down all the way. It is expensive, but it works and for the right computer experience (mechanical keyboard) then it is worth it. A note on the keys, the back light does not shine thru the key itself, but around the keys. The white paint on the dark keys with a big monitor in front of you and the back light on and you won't have a problem, but with a laptop only screen high up on a stand using BT? Idk, not my use case, but I imagine it would not be as easy, just an fyi, only con I could think of.

Quiet & Thocky; Good Value

I quite like this keyboard right out of the box, but ultimately got it as my first foray into the world of custom mechanical keebs. It's great for that, a platform to mess with. I did a lot of studying on what to start with and this really hits all my buttons - hehe. I have two other mech keebs - one of them also a Keychron and it's also very good (just not a 100% size like this one). I do recommend Keychron. The design is good. It's quite heavy but has enough grab-able chassis all round for me to move easily. It has a freakin' knob! I freakin' love knobs! It's pre-programmed for the main volume and it pushes for mute - so cool. The placement of it kinda crowds the F-keys, but that's worth it for sure. It's pretty quiet which isn't a bad thing. I like the sound it makes and I might even like it louder. The feel of the Gateron Banana switches is great. I like the tactile bump and the force is just enough to please me. I'm looking for a more forceful and tactile switch, but these are great for now.The key caps are not translucent, so I'm looking for others also, but these are fine.It is completely programmable, of course, and I have yet to mess with it, but I understand it has QMK firmware that can be customized with some open source software called VIA which was one of many requirements for me.All in all, at ~$115 this is a good bargain. Highly recommended.

Great Keyboard but...

Just check all of the features when you get it. The switch to go from Wired / Wireless / Bluetooth was broken on my first one. Amazon sent a replacement next day so can't ding em there.I've been using membrane keyboards for about two decades. I still game frequently. This has been a really good keyboard to transition over the mechanical. They keys are fairly quiet compared to some other switches that I have tried and they require roughly the same amount of force to press as the membrane keyboard. Hitting the keys just feels more purposeful somehow, probably because of the feedback going through a full keystroke. The extra features have been nice too - love the knob and 4 misc buttons in the top right that I use to switch sound output devices. The keychron software is great but I do wish it had a local client in case the site is down. Remapping is easy and there are a lot of useful default keys.Highly recommend this keyboard. Pair it with a good wrist rest (can recommend the Glorious wooden one) and a coiled USB cable and you are set.

Best keyboard I've ever had

This is my first custom keyboard and I love it. I went with Baby Kangaroo switches, and it feels great. Build quality feels solid, the weight prevents it from sliding around on my desk, and the overall design and layout is comfortable. It was easy to set up and use, and everything functions great.

Keyboard Quickly Started Failing

Keyboard itself was great until it started doubling entering keys. Took about a month for it to start, but the keyboard has begun double entering things like 's' and 'm' every other time I hit them. Has made using the keyboard quite difficult, and I'll have to replace the keyboard sooner rather than later.

High quality, quiet, responsive

Keyboard is high quality and not too heavy. Got one from work and it felt so nice so bought another one for my wife. Keys are smooth and comfortable, bounce back up instantly. My wife is a fast typer at average 110 wpm and she loves the responsiveness of the key. My only complaint is that the space key makes a weird sticky noise after a few months of usages. Does not impact the functionality of it but it’s annoying. Probably need more oil.
