Functional fun
This was my first wood puzzle kit that I have assembled. I was amazed at how precisely all the pieces assembled. The pieces were easy to remove from the boards, and for the most part easy to fit into place. I can tell you that I did not break even one piece of the puzzle during assembly. They do provide extra pieces of many smaller parts, just in case you need them. I did take the advice of other builders and work on top of a towel. Should you then drop a small piece it wouldn't bounce away. The other good advice is to sand all parts to smooth the edges. Also, use plenty of wax when instructed to do so. It seems like a small piece of wax that they give you, but it is plenty large enough to apply it liberally. The puzzle will have to sit level to work correctly. Once level, only small adjustments were made to have it working smoothly. It was a very enjoyable build. I am sure to purchase another!

Age restriction is no joke
I am putting this together with a 9 year old. They would not be able to do this on their own -- but we knew that going into the purchase. It's really fun to put together as a team -- they do what they can (which is quite a lot), while I do the fiddly bits like removing the delicate pieces from their mold, managing the teensy little washers that hold the axels together and quality assurance/troubleshooting for assemblies.Quality of the pieces is really high. Instructions are great. And so far, assemblies seem to work, and do what they do in really clever ways. Sometimes an assembly will feel flimsy, and then the next piece will add the missing rigidity. I feel like I'm in good hands with the designer of this toy. This is going to take you HOURS, btw. I'd say we're 8 hours and about halfway through the instructions. (And we're already talking about getting the kit that connects to this one for Christmas).Honestly, this is more than a kid can manage on their own, they would be frustrated. Kiwico and Crunch Labs have much better options for the youngers. But the joy of doing something that initially feels dauntingly hard and seeing it all come together into a beautiful, working object is something potent worth sharing, and this isn't something we would get out of a simpler toy.

Marble Run Mania!
The media could not be loaded. This is a well-made product that is fun to assemble. All the pieces fit properly, and it actually works well as you can see in the video. Follow the directions closely and read all notations as far as part orientation and waxing.

Toy
This was a gift. It took about 3 hours to put together and ran quite well for about 5 days; then the motor stopped.I contacted the manufacturer who promptly sent another motor and it has worked just fine since. Very entertaining and mesmerizing!

A Challenge ffor this 70+ man with shaky hands
Great 3 dimensional wooden puzzle. My granddaughter loves this. Purchased the Space Port marble run and Romantic Notes wall clock as next challenges.Fun and challenging, be careful to read directions a few times as it is neccessary to follow them. I did braek a few parts, but ROKR came through with low $$ replacement parts. Great support!

Piece break easily. Very difficult to assemble.
My engineering-loving 12-year-old purchased this with his own money. We weren't dissuaded by the 14 and up age recommendation, as he has done many Lego sets above his age range. Well, they mean it for this toy!If you make any mistake in assembly, removing the piece to fix your mistake will almost certainly break the piece in some way. There are no extra pieces, should this happen. We had to resort to using hot glue and cutting extra pieces out of the scraps to try to patch any problems. This didn't work very well.My son was left frustrated and in tears after basically making backward progress after HOURS of working on this toy. I felt it was difficult to do, even as an adult, so I'm not sure it would have worked well even if my son was in the age range the manufacturer recommended.I do NOT recommend this toy.
