My 6 years old Dyson V8 animal can't hold the charge for long. In max mode, it only lasts a few minutes. This adapter provides an alternative power source. I have a bunch of Kobalt 4Ah batteries, which can be put to good use. I used the original 3 screws. The only downside is the bottom is not flat any more, which is fine.

Some batteries act funny, like will work on low but not max setting, and some work fine. No fault of this device, just a limitation of using a third party battery on the Dyson. I have 4 batteries only 2 work on max setting.

This is Awesome. Checking for Dyson replacement batteries had me in shock. Seeing their price and reading reviews saying they don't last long had me considering all options. When I saw this I was curious if it would really work. It took awhile getting it cuz shipping was like 3 weeks, but after swapping it out onto my Dyson V8 and it working as I hoped, I was Pleasantly surprised and happy. I'd definitely recommend it, as it saves you money, (not needing their batteries) and no more clutter w their charging base n cord. Just keep your Kobalt batteries charged n u are good to go. Peace.

So far so good. Definitely better than spending $100+ for a Dyson replacement when I have plenty of Kobalt batteries.

Fit my vacuum perfect and the kobalt 24v 4ah and 2ah work great. Now the vacuum will run for an hour and a half to 2 hours on a 2ah battery instead of literally 5 minutes from my dyson $150 battery

It did fit and adapt the kobalt battery but the vacuum would run for a minute and shut offPicked up a OE style battery that works perfectly
