Great for chart beginners!
I was surprised with how much simple did this book made dealing with charts. The examples and visuals certainly helped but the explanations were also quite thorough and easy to understand. One may not be used to relate charts to storytelling but digging deeper you realise you basically need to have a whole story in order to understand a chart, otherwise, it’s just a bunch of numbers displayed in different ways.In the world of technology in business, I’m sure there’s not a single industry that doesn’t use data analysis in one point. And well, with data comes graphics and charts, so if anybody is interested in getting into data, it goes without saying that it’s truly needed to know how to present that data. This book gives a pretty good overview on how to do that and then some more.

Get your audience involved
The key to a great presentation is when you get your audience full attention and when they are involved enough to participate. With the rise of social media, the average human attention span is 8.25 seconds, so it is of importance to get your audience to listen to you far longer than that. Storytelling with Charts is a guide for everyone who is tasked to do presentations. It provides you with useful tips on how to properly and effectively utilize charts not just to show data but to also catch your audience's attention. Less talk, less mistakes, let your presentation speak to your attendees. It is easy to understand and easy to follow. It even provided a cheat sheet on how to create a Storytelling Chart which was really helpful.

Terrible presentation
The book was useless for me. Contrary to his own explanations, his examples slides are too small to read. The explanations are very high level, and lack specificity, and are just basic common sense.

Very useful
“Storytelling with Charts” by Sam Schreim is a must-have book, whether you are an experienced business owner or whether you are new to the business scene. In this very interesting and well-structured book you will find out from the author how to create charts for presentations that will really engage your audience.I found it very useful to learn how to captivate your audience from the very start of the presentation and love the fact that the book includes free tables and helpful “cheat sheets” to help one in beginning the journey to successful business presentation. Everything about charts is covered from start to finish in this book, which is far more useful than any textbook you will have had in school.

Consultant Power Point Cheat Codes
I am liking how it is unlocking the "secrets" and explaining the concepts that the big time consultants are charging our company $100's per hr to use on power point slides. Feel like I'm being given cheat codes. I'm absolutely dissatisfied with size of the tables and charts in the book. Small AF. Apparently you aren't supposed to read them. Get yourself a magnifying lens.

I absolutely recommend it!
When writing this book, author Sam Schreim was able to show his ability to capture the inner mood of business advertising and display it for us to learn or imitate. The book is loaded with charts that make everything easy for us, understanding what the author means becomes simple and straightforward. Being a visual person, these charts were just what I needed.Giving speeches and talks and catching the audience’s attention is possible after reading this book. Plenty of skills are developed while reading the book and we see that once we are in front of people, put the book’s ideas into practice and enjoy the results. I absolutely recommend it!
