Fantasy Flight Games Doom The Board Game

This is a great game which does an admirable job of capturing the latest incarnation of the Doom console game. Downtime across players is kept manageable and even when I repeatedly lose, I still have a blast. I own the original Doom board game from FFG and loved that but this, in my mind, overall, is better. The theme is the same, obviously, but it's a whole different game so a worthy purchase if you love Doom and already own a copy of the original.

Love it, the mini's are detailed easy to play, but I will put out there alot of set-up witch looks and feels overwhelming, but really once you get it set up very fun and easy.

Got this for my eldest son for his birthday he is very happy with it.

As with most of my board games it was a buying experience as much as anything and I LOVE owning this game. The box is an ornament in itself and the miniatures and tiles are visually brilliant. I bought it during the hype for the new game so it all tied together.Actual gameplay. It's a Dungeon Crawler. A very fast paced Dungeon Crawler with 'I hit it with my sword' swapped out for 'I shoot it. I shoot it again. I shoot it differently. I shoot it with my pistol. I chainsaw it!'. This captures the FPS feel perfectly. Especially capturing the feel of instantly switching weapons and Doom super speed brutality and as a board game simulation of a computer game FPS it's hilarious and perfect! I really enjoy it. Playing as the marines is straight forward and lots of fun. Albeit (as a big detractor) pretty railroaded. There's not lots of choice on what to do per turn in the end and that can get boring once you get used to the game.This unintentionally led me to thoroughly enjoying setting this game up and playing it on my own. Something I did just to try and learn the game as the rulebook is clear as mud and ended up doing a few more times just for fun.Playing as the Demons is were the rules are unclear and i find it difficult. As usual with this kind of game someones got to bare 70% of the workload without much reward. Youtube clarifications saved me from playing completely wrong. The Demons at least have a good fighting chance of winning in this game if you play with 3-4 players and that balances out the fun.It loses a star for the unclear rulebook and being a little lackluster in tactical gameplay but it does what it says on the tin and emulates Doom as a board game. So I recommend it... (oh and also for being stingy on dice and never following up with a dice pack).I would dearly love an Expansion with Doom guy or one with original Doom/Doom 2 models and tiles or comedic flat sprites but sadly I don't think it was successful enough.

This is simply an awesome game, good mechanics and gameplay it is a premium game, with premium quality and is good value good playability and re-playability

great figures lots in it for the money will be played to it drops to bits

Love it, epic, probably never needs an expansion but...Lusting for an expansion!!

Great fast paced, frantic game. Loads of fun. Takes a short intense run through to learn but once you have the basics its brilliant.
