Fantasy Flight Games Doom Board Game - 14 Years & above

In various places on the web you get people saying this game has a few missions that are unbalanced towards the marines. I don't know that I can agree to that since in my group, every mission has been played several times and sometimes the marines win, and sometimes the invader wins. Each mission does take a good amount of time to play. My group probably averages around 2 hours per mission depending how focused everyone is but that doesn't stop this game from being a staple on game night.The figures in this game have some of the best detail that I've seen throughout miniature games. They are also quite durable and have stood up to countless play sessions. My cards on the other hand have warn a bit, but not to the point where you can tell which card is about to come up. They just don't have that slick feel of new cards anymore.This game is built in such a way that when you get through the provided 12 missions in the operations guide, you can pretty easily come up with your own missions to play through. There is a ton of stuff in this game and each time its brought out there is enjoyment among the players. The first couple of play-throughs we needed to reference the rule book since there is a lot of rules but even with the pages of rules, the game play itself is quite easy. Mastering the correct strategy is where this game gets a bit challenging.

This is a great game which does an admirable job of capturing the latest incarnation of the Doom console game. Downtime across players is kept manageable and even when I repeatedly lose, I still have a blast. I own the original Doom board game from FFG and loved that but this, in my mind, overall, is better. The theme is the same, obviously, but it's a whole different game so a worthy purchase if you love Doom and already own a copy of the original.

Doom basiert auf einem erprobten Spielesystem: Descent, Descent 2nd Edition und Imperial Assault standen Pate für dieses Spiel. Einer übernimmt den "Invader", also die bösen Dämonen, und ein bis drei andere Spieler kontrollieren die Marines. Gewinnen wird immer nur eine Partei: die Marines, wenn sie die Zielvorgabe des gewählten Szenarios erfüllen, oder der Invader, wenn er selbiges verhindert und gleichzeitig eine gewisse Anzahl an Marines zerschnetzelt.Das Spielsystem ist im Grunde sehr einfach: über einen Kartenstapel wird bestimmt, wer am Zug ist, und derjenige hat die Wahl zwischen Bewegen und Feuern. Die dem Spiel beiliegenden zwölf Missionen sind verschieden genug um den Wiederspielwert hoch zu halten. Aus puzzleartigen Geländeteilen wird eintweder ein Outpost, oder die Marsoberfläche zusammengebaut; das Spielbrett ist also für jede einzelne Mission verschieden.Das Spiel läuft sehr schnell und zügig - jeder ist permanent im Spielgeschehen eingebunden und es gibt nahezu keine Downtime. Eine Mission ist schnell gespielt - zwischen 60 und 120 Minuten - und wer mehr will, spielt eine Folge von Missionen hintereinander als Kampagne - zwei solcher Kampagnen sind im Spiel enthalten.Im Gegensatz zu seinen direkten Vorgängern, Imperial Assault und Descent, ist Doom das einfachere und schnellere Spiel. Beer & Pretzel, wie die Amerikaner sagen. Kurzweiliger Spaß auf taktischem Level mit beeindruckendem Spielmaterial. Nicht ganz billig, aber jeden Cent wert.

Que dire, si ce n'est que la finition du jeu est ahurissante ! Des heures d'amusement en vue avec des campagnes et scénarios possibles. Destiné à un public connaisseur et averti, c'est la bombe des jeux de plateau de 2017 !
