It's great!
So, I have just moved house and bought a new glass belly kettle.Within 2 days the bottom was caked in limescale... So I bought this Britta Filter!A few days later the limesacle had dissapeared from the kettle and looks great!Water tastes great! tea and coffe taste great... As a AVID tea and coffee drinker.. I swear my teeth are whiter too... but who knows...In my house hold we go through 2 jugs a day!Fill it up, and once it has filtered, you can fill it up again! The LCD "timer" on the top is in no way linked to the actual filter... You just loose a bar once a week...So Using the glass kettle as a guide.. after about 2 weeks the limescale starts to appear again! albeit VERY slowly compared to before! But change the filter when it appears.. and within a day it is gone again! So for me and my usage.. I replace the filter every 2 weeks! I buy a pack for 6 for £20something and thats a 3 month supply! perfect! If you drink a LOT or water, tea, coffee etc... I would highly recomend this!I always thought of these filters as a gimick that don't really do anything! But WOW! was I happy to be wrong! these are truly amazing! money well spent!

Sturdy and reasonably sized water filter jug
Marella XL water jug is a bigger water jug that can hold 2.4 litres of filtered water and 3.5 litres in total which should last you a day as it is recommended to drink 8 glasses a water per day. We use the water for cooking and kettles as well as for drinking, however, I wouldn't recommend using it for iron, it definitely helps to reduce limescale but for iron, I would always go for deionised or distilled water. The jug looks nice and is sturdy, however, the lid flaps feel flimsy and if hit they could easily break. The handle is sturdy and comfortable but it is positioned in such a way that if the jug is full it is hard to hold it.I have tested the throughput of the cartridges and found that it takes approximately 6 minutes to filter one litre of water.I have found the filters to be very good at removal of chlorine from tap water which is by far my main reason why I didn't drink tap water as the taste did bother me. By bringing both filtered and unfiltered water under the light there is a visible difference in the number of particles in the water, the filtered water had none floating about (these are not dangerous). I conducted a blind test to verify if the taste of the filtered water was truly better at least to me personally and I have found that in 90 per cent of cases it did. However, from time to time the water did taste sweet to me.I used to buy bottled water which can rack up expenses and it does create unnecessary plastic waste I felt guilty for, now I can enjoy the water at home with great taste and fewer contaminants but also at a much cheaper price per litre.Overall, I would recommend this product as it is trusted by many and provides a great solution to picky taste buds.

This filters my misty tap water well
I bought this because about 6 months ago I poured a glass of water from my tap in Plymouth (Devon) and was disgusted by the quality of it. The water was slightly misty but didn't look clear at all. Then I realised I had been drinking misty water for months. I bought this product for £14 so I'm surprised to see it has increased to more than £20. When the jug arrived, there was a big manual included.SetupThe setup was fairly easy, you take the filter out the packet and stick it in the jug.DesignThe design is okay, but it could be improved. The shell uses high quality plastic and the handle is easy to grip. The transparent plastic is useful to see how effective the filter is. I have found the tip of the jug is sometimes annoying when pouring. If the jug isn't at the right angle, water will flow down the base and spill. When you put water into the jug, the liquid stays separate so you can pour and filter at the same time.ValueThe value of the product when I bought it was great, but it's a shame to see it has gone up in price. The filters are expensive. I recently got a three pack of filters which was reduced to £10 at Tesco so I think £3.3 a filter isn't that bad. The reader on the jug says they need replacing every month. I replace my filters every 3-4 months because the water remains clear to me when it's filter. On Amazon a three pack of filters is £16, so £5.3 for each filter is quite expensive to me. That's probably my water bill for 2 weeks. Overall, I think the water is still good. You can buy cheaper water filters from brands like Wilkos, but I can't say whether they will be as effective.

Outstanding Customer Service
I've been using the BRITA Marella XL water filter jug for over a year, and it has been fantastic in reducing chlorine, limescale, and other impurities from my water. Recently, the bottom of the jug got broken, and I reached out to the BRITA team. I am incredibly impressed with their customer service—they promptly sent me a full replacement jug along with a new filter at no cost! The process was hassle-free, and their dedication to customer satisfaction is commendable. I highly recommend BRITA products not only for their quality but also for their exceptional service.
