A while ago I bought an inexpensive screen backlight. It amounted to a generic strand of LED strip lighting that came with a cheaply-made remote control. All it really was was strip lighting, like what my teenage daughter put up in her bedroom. Well, there was one exception. The set I bought for my TV failed within a year.When this lighting set popped up as an almost-expired Lightning Deal, I bought it right away, only because of the good experiences I've had with other Govee products. When it arrived, I was amazed at its quality and capabilities.Unlike the previous strip of lights, the Govee lights were sealed. Also, instead of a single run of lights, which required some awkward bends at each corner, these lights consisted of four strips with built-in wires for corners, making the installation easier and more professional looking.The list of features is astounding. There are enough lights to make the result as bright as I need it, and everything is adjustable through their smartphone app.Thanks to the included camera, actually, there are three cameras built into the single sensor; I can have the lights around the TV change with the picture with no discernable delay. I also have the option to have the lights display a single color that matches the average color of the entire picture at that moment, and I prefer this: the color differs around the screen, depending on what is being displayed on that particular edge at any given moment. For example, if the TV is displaying a blue sky on top, a green field on the bottom right, and a house on the left, then the lighting will show blue on top, green on the right, and house-color on the left, And the match is not just the primary color, but the shade that matches the screen. The result is a picture that is easier to watch in a dark room because there is a smoother transition from the TV display to the darkness surrounding it.Installation took about an hour. It could have gone more quickly, but I was taking my time. However, I did learn one thing that would have made things go more quickly for me and might help you out as well.One installation step is to temporarily apply some large orange blocks to the edge of your TV screen and use the app to define the edges for the cameras by moving little dots to the edges of what the camera sees. What worked better for me was to have a brightly lit picture on my TV and move the dots to the edges without bothering with the blocks.Time will tell if these lights last longer than the previous set. However, based on what I've seen between the two sets and my experience with other Govee products, I expect they will, and by a good amount. And, until then, I have a much better set of lights and a more impressive TV.

It’s a small addition that has a big impact.One important note: take your time with the calibration. The lights need to be adjusted correctly to get the best effect, and I highly recommend doing this with the room lights off. Any glare on the TV screen during calibration can throw off the process, so be sure to do it in a darker setting to get the most accurate results.All in all, this TV backlight is a fantastic upgrade that adds a whole new dimension to watching movies and TV. It’s easy to install, creates an amazing effect, and has been a hit with both the kids and the adults. I can’t recommend it enough!

Very easy to install and use. I've had these light for close to 2 years now and they are still stuck to my TV like the day I installed them. The size for my 65in TV perfect. The light a very durable I use them every day with no issue. The remote is the govee app and with the app you can do countless different effects. If you watching a movie and want the lights to mimic what your watching or if you have family over Christmas day you can set the light to go with any theme making them very functional.

I've recently upgraded to this device from the T3 and I must say that calibrating this device was all for nothing. Connection is often spotty and if it disconnects then you'll have to find the sweet spot for calibration all over again, and that's if you're even lucky enough to get the colors the calibrate correctly. On this device, no matter how hard I try or what I do, I can't seem to get it to display a solid white color as it appears on the picture from the tv. It's either pink, blue or red. It'll display every other color but white! There's no in between. It's not worth the extra cash if you ask me. I've contacted support to find answers but I am still unable to resolve this issue. I will be returning this item soon if it goes unresolved for another week. I have many govee products and have always been a fan of their products but this one was a miss.Edit:Reached out to customer support and they were quick to fix the issue. Any company who stands by their products and takesresponsibility deserves a second chance.They're like that one ex-bf you just can't shake.

I used this for about a couple weeks and never used it again. Its cool but not necessary. Especially if you really don't watch movies like that. They're not even dropping good movies like that anymore. Keep the orange blocks cuz I swear I have to calibrate a million times. I have a 55 inch TV and I think this is for 65 so the ends hang off a Lil but it still works. The colors get close but theres certain colors the lights just can't seem to get down. Especially shades of white. Adhesive is good tho. Was easy to set up
