Accurate for my Silkie brooder. It has mostly set me free!
Accurate temp and humidity or at least they agree with my Silkie chicken incubator at least. Bought it for my brooder to keep the temp accurate for newly hatched chicks. I was under the mistaken impression that it would send me an alarm when the temp either drops too low or rises too high. It only sends alerts which is disappointing as I was hoping not to have to set my phone alarm to wake me up every hour to check the temp. At least with this, I can look at my cam I keep on the brooder to see my chicks. The easy-to-read dial is much easier to see through the cam than the old thermometer I was using that often had too much glare to read. This is also much more accurate than the old one as well which is a huge help. If it goes a bit wonky over time, I can calibrate which I like as well. I can sit outside and play with my grown Silkies or just enjoy the evening with my husband and listen for “alerts” to know if I need to go inside and adjust the temp. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase and glad I did it.

Good and accurate thermometer
Easy setup! I used it in my lab to monitor temperature for my fruitflies, pretty accurate, i have a traditional thermometer, temperate measures are comparable.

Easy to read, offers great battery life and is accurate
Still working great since 2022! I'm a diabetic and use a mini fridge to keep my insulin safe and ready when needed. Also keep some snacks and orange juice for critical lows. Purchased this temp & humidity sensor in 2022 and it's still working great in 2025! Visibility is really good due to it being an e-ink display. The battery life is awesome. A lot of temp sensors batteries don't last long in a cold environment, but this is the exception. I changed batteries in it approximately every 8 to 12 months. It uses the AA batteries. I'm currently trying out Eneloop rechargeables. Also, I have it connected to Home Assistant via MQTT, to monitor temperature and send an alert if the temperature gets too high. The Govee app is nice and does offer great data. This sensor is definitely accurate, as I've compared it to another of a different brand along with my thermostat. I can definitely recommend this if you're looking for something that's well built, easy to read, offers great battery life and is accurate.

Good for RV / Van nomad folks with pets.
This will be second unit that I’ve had to replaced luckily Amazon has great customer service and will send a replacement out asap. I rely on this to check on the temp in RV because I have three cats. I work in the desert and am parked where I have wifi and shore power, having this until is great because I can check on the temperature while I’m in the field working, as long as I have wifi service.PROS:Battery operated no need to plug it in and helpful for folks who are boondocking.Connects to wifi and you can check the temperature/humidity remotely. No monthly subscription. You can program it to send alerts when the temperature/humidity drops - low/high.I enjoy the downloaded app that allows me to check in and monitor.CONS: Battery life is short, pack extra batteries with you because they don’t last longer than 2.5 weeks. Perhaps if you set it to not send out frequent reports on temps they would last longer, but I’m worried about my cats and want to make sure that they are staying cool, we have power outages at our duty station which means the electrical can go out and I rely on our swamp and AC to keep things cool. I ended up buying rechargeable batteries in order to reduce waste.Be gentle when opening the kickstand part because it will break. The second unit that I have is less than a month old, batteries put in 2.5 weeks ago have started to read the wrong temperature. Refer to my video when I compare it to another thermometer. Although it was reading a few degrees off, the purpose of my having this is for accuracy.Amazon is replacing this unit which arrives tonight. I also just ordered Energizer rechargeable batteries and the charging deck.A small investment but I don’t like the idea of having to buy batteries all of the time, it’s wasteful and expensive.Anyhow this is great for those of us who travel but you need access to wifi if you want to check on the app. If you have Starlink that is even better! For added assurance, when I have to leave I will face my Ring stickup cam towards the Govee unit in case there is a glitch with the app.Overall I am very pleased. I had done a lot of research on a unit like this, many seemed to have issues, and this is simple to use. Govee will also sync with Alexa, which I have done but it only reads the humidity.

Temperature always wildly incorrect
I've had this thermometer for months and I don't think it's ever shown a correct temperature. When it's 68 degrees it'll read 75, when it's 90 it'll show 72. It's all over the place. The temperature alerts have also never worked for me which is really important for making sure my dog doesn't overheat, but I can't trust the temp to be correct anyway so I never leave my dog alone. The battery indicator also usually reads as full or mostly full and then just suddenly dies with no low battery warning. The only other little nitpick I have is that there's a smiley/frowny face indicator that's never consistent with the conditions - for example, it could be 70 degrees and 40% humidity and it still shows a frowny face. Not sure what the purpose of the indicator is but it's definitely not conveying what it's supposed to. Mine is probably defective and I'm sure Govee's other products are fine but I can't recommend this thermometer as it is.
