This is an enameled metal butter dish with a bamboo cover/silicone seal and butter knife included. The butter knife doesn’t lock into the lid, it just lays on top in its place. This replaced my silicone butter keeper, which had perplexingly gotten some mold embedded in it which could not be removed. I’m confident I will have no such problem with this butter keeper. It’s nice to have a product just *work* nowadays without a lot of fuss and bother. I got the orange one, and I just love that pop of color in my gray and white kitchen.

I've only had it a week but I absolutely love it. I normally buy Kerry gold butter in the big brick and this fish accommodates it just fine. I'm also one that can't stand having hard cold butter that just shreds your bread. I've grown up leaving a stick of butter on the counter as we do live in a colder climate which even with the furnace running, in winter, the butter is rock hard. Not as bad as pulling it out of the refrigerator but we leave the butter out on the counter. This butter dish is exactly what I was looking for. I've tried those butter crocks where you fill it with water and that I felt had some negatives to using it. I didn't care for those. This dish so far is just perfect for my needs. Love it and it's cute too, with the little butter knife that cradles on the top of the cover.

I buy my butter in 1 pound blocks and there is no way to put a one pound block with the lid on. I read someone's review stating that it holds one pound of butter and that's why I purchased this one.. yes, it does hold one pound, but not with the lid! The actual dish is not very tall. Two sticks can fit nicely though. Otherwise, it's very nice and functional.

Such a cute butter dish! Lid fits securely and it looks great on the counter! This dish can easily hold more than one stick too.I also bought a bacon grease container that matches almost perfectly. Nice quality dish!
