Great quality at amazing price √√√
I just bought another one of these to hold a 13lbs rig. I've used one for 5 years to hold Canon 800mm + 5DSR, putting ~$17K on the line, and it works great! Desmond's plates are top notch. My only quibble might be their 1/4"-20 screw. I'm using two Really Right Stuff hexagon/allen wrench head screws to be sure (they never strip, and always hold).

Good quality, Inexpensive Arca-Swiss compatible Lens Plate
For the price, this is a very good Arca-Swiss lens plate. The Good:The sample I have appears to be dimensionally accurate. The bead-blasted, anodized finish is uniform with no glossy or bare spots.Safety stop screws are included and come installed. The Bad:Thus far, I have not found any negatives with this Arca-Swiss plate. The Untested:I have not used this plate with any Arca-Swiss style, lever actuated quick release clamps. At one time, I had been using the Really Right Stuff LR clamps, but have since migrated entirely to screw-knob clamps (Mostly Wimberly C-12 clamps, some RRS, Hejnar and Kirk). I generally find that the convenience of a LR clamp is minimal when compared to the confidence and adaptability of a screw-knob clamp.

Excellent for teh value.
This is the second Desmond plate I brought. Very good workmanship and nice finish. Work great with my camera or as a lens plate.

screw is too short
Take your pick, the screw is too short or the plate is too thick. I bought 2 of these, one is ok, but on the other one the screw will not slide in the slot because the non-threaded part of the screw is too short.

Works and Looks great, It works with RRS Quick release just fine.
I would have skip the review of this kind of products, But since I read some reviews that are wrong, I had to write this and help others from being misled.I needed plates for a specific application and these (100mm and 150mm) looked perfect but I was reluctant to get them since some people posted that this was too small to work with RRS QR. I have 2 BH-55 LR ball heads and a RRS PG-02 Full Gimbal-pano head and all worked perfectly with this plate as a mater of fact exactly the same as the $80+ RRS plates, It requires the same pressure as my other RRS plates to lock it. This thing is a bargain at $22. I wish I had found these before spending a fortune on RRS plates.

Rating upgraded to 5 stars.
The plate itself is as described. It appears well-made, durable, and a good value as well. The problem for me is the mounting screw. The listing clearly states, and shows, a mounting screw with a flat-head screw driver slot and a hex key slot and shows a photo of 2 accompanying hex keys. I bought this plate over others in a similar price range BECAUSE it listed a hex mounting screw as opposed to what actually showed up - a mounting screw with a D-ring and a flat head screw driver slot, no hex key slot and no hex keys. Returning it.11-1-2019Upgrading my rating to 5 stars as Desmond was kind enough to immediately send me the missing hardware after I contacted them directly.

The plate is excellent. But the screw is not in par with ...
I am using it on my Tamron 150-600. The small rise that protrudes at the boarder at one end keeps this big lens from rotating. The foot of this Tamron has only one groove unlike other telescopic lens foot (e.g. ,Nikon 70-200/2.8 VR II) and rotation of lens even after making it tight is a real issue. The plate is excellent. But the screw is not in par with the plate and that's the only reason I gave it one less star. The material of the screw does not seem to be as sturdy as it should be. I don't think camera comes off it - its not that weak. The provided Allen wrench and the groove at the back of the screw both got damaged a little when I tightened it and I couldn't tighten further. However, it also has a groove where you can use a quarter (better a dollar coin or a bit thicker plate) and you don't need Allen wrench. A smaller Allen wrench is also provided for the two safely screw at the bottom ends. I used to remove one of the screws to fit my PhotoClam ballhead clamp for tripod and Sirui L10 monopod head clamp. For the price point not much complain.
