The Circles All Around Us Hardcover – Picture Book, May 18, 2021

The message is visual and practical for pre-schoolers to enjoy. We put it in practice at the playground and brought Gino in to our circle.

I bought this for my cousin who was becoming an older sibling. The book was a lovely depiction of widening your family and community.

I LOVE this book. I teach an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) program and this book really captured the neurodivergent outlook on relationships. It was a heartfelt, loving gift. The quality was amazing, each book was delivered in great condition. Beware, the boxes are heavy if you order multiple! If you haven’t heard the story, go on YouTube to listen to the entire thing, you’ll love it.

I give this book to all my friends’ kids. Most of them are too young to fully understand it right now, but I love knowing they know that we’ll always be part of their circle.

Our 3 year old grandson was having a hard time transitioning to his new preschool class. This book helped us talking with him about his feeling. I would highly recommend.

While the overall message and illustrations were admirable and promote world community, empathy, and neighborliness, it wasn’t a good fit for us, at least not for the time being.We’re focused more on identifying which people are safe to trust and on what level, since safety is a bigger concern for my very friendly family.We’re using Social Boundaries: The Circles Curriculum for “discriminating different levels of intimacy and adapting their behaviors accordingly”. This book, I believe, could undermine that message since it talks about expanding our circles and letting more people in.

The Circles All Around Us is such an inspiring book. The illustrations are adorable, full of diversity and joy. The story is one that speaks to the hearts of those both young and young-at-heart. In the pages are words of encouragement to expand our circles, and make room for more and more people in our lives. My favorite lines from it are, “So let us create bigger circles all around us for the rest of our days. Let our caring ripple out in a million little ways.” I can’t recommend this book enough!

This was purchased as a gift for the school counselor. It is a wonderful story and a great present.
