It has great value and has everything you need. I did find it hard to peel off the paper backing on some of the stickers. I learned to use a pin to poke the center or a bubble on the back to lift the paper. This helped make sure the edge of the stickers were not compromised.The neighbors kids love these kits! Already their sewing skills have improved!

Great for 8 year old

My almost-7-year-old has been begging for sewing lessons. This set seemed like a good starting point. The felt is heavy and embroidery floss is strong. The eye of the needles is large enough for my daughter to thread it herself. There are enough needles included to replace one every other project, which is good, because they do bend out of shape. The included scissors are awful, but not a deal breaker. Our other children's scissors work just fine.There are a few drawbacks. The length of thread needed to sew each dog is long, and it tends to get caught on ears, tails, etc. The bigger problem comes with the sticker details. The sticky backing tends to stick to the peel-off paper rather than the felt. It takes a patient adult with fingernails to correctly remove the paper.Despite my issues, my daughter loves these projects, and the end product is adorable. Just be prepared to help your young sewers.

Kids love these. Ages 6-11

I bought this as a gift for an 8 year old who is learning to sew. She was SO excited with this kit as each animal was a pretty good size, which made sewing easier. She said she thought they would be smaller, so she was very happy. The holes for the stitching pre-cut making the process easier. She completed each one and was very proud of herself! Highly recommend!!
