The the Saya
The Blade is self initially comes really sharp however the Saya of the Katana is poorly made. Sheathing and unsheathing causes blade to dull...... other than that the katana itself is better than I expected, and is worth the purchase especially for the price.

Exactly as advertised in the pic
My first katana I’ve ever bought and it was in perfect condition. For the price? It’s a steal! I say it’s perfect to place for decoration. It came a bit sharp which I don’t mind at all and it also came with some sort of oil on the blade to stop from rusting believe. I’d totally recommend this to anyone wanting a badass looking katana. Love it!

It is well worth the $36 with out doubt.
Its a katana u can use fairly rough and all day on light duty. It is a fantastic value and when i honed the blade it gets sharp beyond belief, 1045 is esentially mild steel but it is carbon based at medium. More carbon = better edge retention if HT is proper. It is on this blade. The Tusba is loose after abuse but f&$k it it was $36 and when it breaks ill just make it a custom project of my own desire. So win win win only reason not five stars is the pin is some type of cork resin mixture that could hsve been pinned with brass for the same effort put in as cork pin. But still a solid sword. Ive seen $200 and even $400 swords that would have trouble justifying their cost if put to the test side by side. Which i will do soon and report back. Check me out on YouTube BC Cutlery

Better than alternatives
So I am new to buying swords so I have made mistakes. But I have been watching Shadiversity and been trying to learnAnyways. I now have 3 swords and have some context with which to judge this sword. Here are the other 2 swords I am comparing this sword to:United Cutlery UC3152 Combat Commander Saber Knifehttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BWPEUSO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Loki's Sword of Chaos Viking Longsword High Carbon Stainless Steel Functional Peenedhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F1KBHKC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Right off the bat the katana is better balanced. The center of gravity is way closer to the hilt than the saber. The longsword is reasonably well balanced but still somehow more cumbersome. I just can't delver as much force with it for chopping as i can with the katana.I use a cardboard box as my metric, this katana slices through it almost with ease, where the other two swords named cannot slice it at all.Looking at the details of this sword, I get the impression it was never meant to be practical though. Like the laughably consistent pattern on the edge of the blade. Yes, I know there is supposed to be A pattern, but this perfect? its a marketing strategy. Plus the handle is mostly plastic. But is it a good sword? As far as I can tell, yes. A better entry level sword than what I bought for my entry level sword.

Amazing for the price
I was honestly shocked when I opened the box. Decently sharp edge right out of the box. Came oiled. Full tang. Decently nice sheath. Haven’t found one complaint so far!

More fun then hedge trimmers
First of all I'm comparing this to it's monetary value.. it's a darn good sword for what you pay for. I'm not taking it into battle to fight ninjas but it comes sharp and can easily be sharpened more. Well build and can trim my bamboo.. much more fun then hedge trimmers..
