My new favorite beard balm
Pros:FragranceEasy to applyGood packagingQuality productNot greasy or oily on beardCons:SpendyFirst off, I believe that beard grooming products, like all grooming products, are a matter of personal preference. What works for one person may not work for another. So while this product works for my beard it may not work for yours. That does not make it a bad product.I’ve tried many beard balms and for my beard this is the best! I learned about it reading a blog and this was the top pick. I can see why. It smells great, applies easily, holds well, and doesn’t feel (or smell) like I sprayed my beard with WD-40.At first the fragrance hit me wrong. But like a good wine or whiskey you need to breathe the nose several times to get all of the aromas. After using it for a few days the smell was more akin to walking into a cigar humidor. It is very earthy and getting an occasional whiff of it is a pleasure! I do pick up the balsam from time to time and it’s more like being in the woods. It certainly isn’t like PineSol or your auto air freshener tree.Initially I applied the balm with my fingers. Now I am using a small round beard brush (available on Amazon) to apply it. I swirl the brush in the tin (perfect fit!) getting a small amount on the brush and then I brush it in. I get very good coverage with this method. Most beard balms are made with too much oil or too much wax. I tried one that looked like - and smelled like - a can of bearing grease. It never soaked into my beard so I would spend the day mopping my beard trying to get the excess oils off. Another product I have to put a small amount in my hand and then heat it with a blow dryer to get it soft enough to apply. Big Forest Beard Balm is just the right consistency. The amount of oil is what I would expect from a product with shea butter in it. It dissipates in time and isn’t oily or greasy.I have found that many products use either dyes, or waxes or oils, that will yellow my white beard. This balm doesn’t. Again I believe that’s due to the quality of the ingredients. This is pricey. $24 for a 2oz tin. The tin is about 2-1/2” in diameter and about 2” high (62mm x 21mm). If you read the full list of ingredients on the bottom of the tin you see that they didn’t go cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. I have spent collectively a lot more money than the cost of this tin on other products and haven’t really liked any of them as well as I do Big Forest Beard Balm. This an all-in-one product. So you will save money by not having to use one to soften and condition and another for styling and hold.Bottom line: a great product…at least for me… although, I think that most men will be pleased using this beard balm.Try it. I think you’ll like it.

WORTH THE PRICE.
This stuff smells and feels amazing. Rub this stuff between your hands and you are now in an evergreen forest smelling more manly than that lumberjack that splits logs on social media. Fragrance lasts awhile which may deter some if you don’t like woodsy scent. Product has some texture so have to use a little more than lighter products but has a phenomenal hold. Ingredients have nearly renewed my beard health overnight - was using cheap #1 purchased on here before and didn’t realize how dry my beard really was.Is it pricier than other options… yes. But my beard really has never looked, smelled, or felt as nice as it does now with this stuff.Feel like an infomercial but really appreciate the quality in this product.

The best balm I’ve tried
I decided to grow a beard for the first time in my life, and as a result I’ve tried several different products to find what works best for me and my short beard. I’ve been through conditioners, creams, serums, and balms. After trying DTQ’s balm I think I’ve found the winner. Softens, helps tame rogue hairs, provides slight hold. Isn’t greasy. Easy to apply. Quality natural ingredients. Better in all these respects than the others I’ve tried.I left off a star for a couple reasons. First is the pine smell from the balsam fir oil. I don’t mind it. At times it reminds me of a fresh cut Christmas tree. Other times it’s more medicinal. It fades relatively quickly. It’s somewhat invigorating, but I don’t have strong feelings for it. There are other balms with more pleasant aromas. I can imagine a small number of people would actively dislike like it.The other issue is the price. There are other quality balms for less money. If your beard is on a budget this balm may seem expensive. That said, this one works great for me, I think it’s worth it, and will purchase again.

Fantastic Product
I’ve tried several beard balms, this is the best beard balm I’ve ever used. It is lightweight enough for everyday use, but robust enough to shape and style your beard. It has a pleasant scent that isn’t overbearing. It has completely reduced itching, dryness, and flakes in my beard. Would recommend to anyone.

Best beard balm I've ever used
Nice light hold. Great wood scent in the beard. Protects my beard and makes it nice and soft. Even stays in when I swim laps in the pool, protecting the beard from chlorine.

Garbage!
This stuff is garbage for your beard, smells horrific. If you want a good beard care product use Scotch Porter, they’ve never let me down!!

This smells terrible
Not quite sure what else to say about this. Applied it. It went on fine. It does definitely groom your beard properly; keeps the flyaways down. But, it smells awful. The pine scent or whatever it's supposed to be is not coming through. It just smells like wax. I asked some of my family members to validate my concern, and they all agreed that it didn't smell like anything pleasant, so this will be returned. Either I got a tin from a bad batch, or the scent is so faint that I can't smell it right under my nose.
