Ordered this because my husband loved it as a kid. I was surprised to find it was still being made. The general consensus was that it tastes good, but has a flavor we all associated with being kids in the 80s.Overall I like the cake mix more than the icing, but I’m glad I tried it with the icing once to get the full experience. Next time I will try the cake mix with a cream cheese icing for a less intense flavor.I did modify the cake mix for stability and flavor - milk instead of water, one extra egg (just the yolk), and butter instead of oil.

I couldn’t find this cake mix anywhere in my local grocery stores. My brother wanted it for his birthday celebration. My mother use to make this for us when we were little, so it was a big deal to find it. Anyway, as always it was super moist and delicious, just like we remembered.

This is my husband's favorite cake. I was so excited to find these on Amazon. I haven't seen them in stores for years. If you like cherry you will love it.
