Thinkware Radar Accessory for U1000 Dash Cam (V1)

i purchased the u1000 and i purchased the radar module just for the heck of it incase i want to use it.You can not use live veiw or cloud features when this radar module is being used and will only work in energy saver mode. i use the cloud features most so this just keeps my u1000 company on the windshield most times but i do sometimes use this to have less false hits. this will dramatically extend record time and battery life on your car. this is more intended for those that park there cars for days at a time. if you drive your car every day than honestly this is a waist of money.

I'm running my U1000 duo on a Cellink Neo 6 battery that is hardwired to the car and depending on how much activity occurs around my car this extends my parking mode to several days. The U1000 doesn't miss anything going on around my car so having the ability to use less power while doing it is a bonus. I'm very glad that I purchased this module for my U1000.

Works amazing! If you already dropped the 400 bucks on a u1000 dashcam then you must buy this addon,and if you don't wanna waste you car battery get the backup battery as well.. Pricey setup but a great investment!

Nov 13, 2019To enable the radar, you must first put the U1000/cam in parked recording mode into energy saver first.November 7I received my second radar sensor after replacing my U1000 front and rear cams as well. Turns out the software is the issue. Doesn't work with my iPhone 7, iPhone 11, or iPhone 11 Pro Max in our household... can't enable it through the menu because we can't get the regular apt to connect. We can get the app to connect on the cloud app but the menu still does not allow us to activate the radar when hooked up... shows it as an option, just nothing happens.-----------------------------------I received the radar and hooked it up. It is relatively straight forward... plug and play... and of course the catch... mine didn't work. I understand you need to enable the radar under the record settings per included instructions. I also updated my dashcam to the latest firmware upgrade as of 11/03/19. My App on my phone wouldn't allow for me to enable it (iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11Pro... tried two different phones)... it enable radar option stays greyed out. Thinking the issues may have been the connector on the dashcam for the radar, I replaced my U1000.The same issue, radar does not work with the replacement U1000. Now I'll replace the radar to see if that is the issue. I'm hoping it is a fluke. I've enjoyed the Thinkware products overall. I also tried to call Thinkware multiple times. I only got a messaging system during business hours with no response... put a sour taste in my mouth. Thinkware makes a great product... customer service... look elsewhere.I'll update my review accordingly. I'm still waiting for Thinkware to approve the return and I already purchased a second radar.
