CCNA Certification Study Guide: Exam 200-301, Volume 2 (Sybex Study Guide)

That the Volume 1 is not needed, but nice to have.
Here's what I noticed between Volume 1 vs Volume 2.Volume 1 doesn't have the objectives vs Volume 2 does have it. Which is very important statement to know. Also they stress this interesting statement on the Amazon web page "For Volume 2 Get more than 90% of the answers correct, and you're ready to take the certification exam. Also this statement "Coverage of 100% of all exam objectives in this Study Guide means you'll be ready for your exams." vs Volume 1 doesn't have this statement. So it's nice to have Volume 1 to lay down your foundation for your exam, but it's not a requirement. So as long as you know Volume really well, then you shouldn't need Volume 1. So the choice is yours which one to make. I hope that this will help some people out in their studies and or save them some $$$, and less hassle. I was reading their Amazon so called fine print with both books, I was like wow that's interesting statement. It was a great "Ah monument when I noticed that comment."You have to pick which best suits your needs and if you want to save some $$$ and less hassle.

Please don't forget the Bonus Material that Todd put together!
The book is well structured with everything you need to pass the CCNA. How do I know? I passed! I used the Kindle version of the text, but was still able to access the bonus material that you should use to prep for the exam. You will need to download Packet Tracer to follow along with Todd's labs and Skill Simulations, but the practice is well worth it to cement ideas into your brain. To nitpick, there are a few places in the book where the caption was not completely indicative of figures, and perhaps could use a good editor to smooth out some ideas, but every concept that is on the exam outline is covered. My advice: print out the exam objectives, and write down when you covered them in the book. Have a study plan that has you reading the book, practicing the labs, practicing subnetting, and watching videos on sharing sites that cover the exam objectives every single day.Good Luck!

For previous reviewer
Did you buy volume 1? The new CCNA is comprehensive so you need vol 1 AND 2. So buy the first 1.

Great exam prep and desktop reference!
Todd Lammle is by far the best authority on Cisco Certifications especially CCNA and CCNP. I would trust this veteran's books hands down! I still have his CCNA Prep book from 1999! Thanks Todd for updating consistently and adding value to our certification training through all your material.
