The Standard Pilot Log (Black) was a great gift for new future pilots
I had two happy grandsons receiving their first pilot logbook, just like Grandpa's, before their first flying lesson. I’m thrilled I was able to find these!

The ASA’s Standard Pilot Log is great for causal
I purchased this log for when I fly privately out of a local municipal airport. The ASA’s Standard Pilot Log is great for causal, fixed wing private pilots who prefer to keep their logs in a written format instead of an electronic device such as an iPad. Professional pilots might want to consider a more complex logbook, or one that is compatible with your company’s own standards. When evaluating the logbook, the following criteria was used:• Does the book match industry standards?• Does the book meet FAA requirements and regulations?• Is it easy to follow?• Is the book made of quality materials that won’t fall apart over time?• Does it come as advertised?Meets Industry Standards. The book holds up to industry standards and will be easily readable by any licensed pilot or aviation company. You can easily follow the entries to recall general details about past flights. The book meets all FAA requirements for logging flights, as well as providing extra information slots for personal use.Well Made. The Standard Pilots Log’s hardcover provides reliable protection against falls, drink spills, folding pages, and general wear from usage, so you don’t have to worry about it falling apart on you. The cover also hangs out over the pages about half a centimeter further protecting the pages from fraying and being crushed around the edges when being jostled around in a backpack or flight bag. The binding is well put together and withstands regular use.Improved Entry Pages. The entry pages have changed somewhat since the last Logbook, additional information sections including an ‘Additional notes’ section has been added. To compensate the entries are somewhat smaller than the previous editions but still provide ample amounts of room for filling out information. The compact size also allows for it to be easily stowed in your headset bag, knee bag, or in the planes seatback.Additional Notes Section. When logging your flight the additional notes section can be especially useful to record events are useful to aircraft mechanics. An example would be if you happened to break a few rivets on the propeller spinner. You can log that it happened in the additional information section. If it keeps happening you can compare flights to see if there are any similarities, helping narrow down where the problem might be originating.Reliable.Lastly, unlike electronic systems pen and paper is inexpensive, doesn’t crash, can’t be ‘accidentally’ deleted, and you don’t need to plug it in to an outlet to charge it.Overall the ASA’s Standard Pilot Log comes as advertised. It is a good logbook for casual usage and performs well for both new and old pilots.

A high quality logbook.
With how much one pays for flight lessons and to fly in general, it's well worth it to log that time in a book that will not break down with use.The columns are easily understandable and easy to use.The paper and printing is of a good quality. The spine and outer covers feel to be made to last.
