Professional calculator full stop!
Brilliant calculator the best I've owned! I've done a masters in mathematics and it's capable of performing all of the equations that are in the course very easily. Very good value for money and thoroughly professional!Excellent!

Decent Scientific Calculator.
Has many functions. Solar power is a nice extra . What is there to say , it's a great sharp calculator for those who prefer sharp over Casio.

Decent calculator, let down by numerical integration and slightly cheap feeling
So as Casio have dropped the ball with the new CW series which are awkward to use, can this calculator be a decent replacement for the 991EX?Unboxing it, it seems a decent calculator, although not quite as premium as the Casio. The display is visibly pixelated, although it supports natural display (writing 2^1/2 as you would in a text book). The keyboard is quite nice, but the body of the calculator picks up fingerprints and feels a bit tacky. The functionality is certainly there and this is a bit of a bargain for the price, it supports matrices/ HEX conversion etc. Pretty much matching the 991 function for function and good enough for A-levels or a University course. As I'm used to the Casio, I struggled initially to find things, but it's all there. As noted by another reviewer, the accuracy on tricky numerical integration can be poor, although much faster than the Casio in calculating it's over 10x out, on the example (integrate sin(2*pi/X) from 0.01 to 0.1). The Sharp does allow you to increase the interval and the accuracy goes up, although it does get slower to do the calculation. The Sharp manual does warn you of when the integration is likely to be inaccurate. The Casio is easier to work in this respect, although the Sharp does allow finer control. Generally, you're not going to get pathological functions in the exam.So this isn't a full replacement for the 991EX. Shame as it's quite a nifty calculator for the price and strangely cheaper than the Sharp calculators aimed at GCSE level. It's probably better than the Casio CW though.

Should be good.
Should be good, but not used yet.

Casio calculators are better.
The mathematical capabilities of this calculator may be equal to that of more sophisticated Casio calculators. However, Casio have better graphing calculators. Furthermore you can purchase a quality zipped storage case for your Casio scientific calculators that fit the entire calculator, including the plastic cover. The third party cases available on Amazon for Sharp scientific calculators only have room for calculator, but not for the protective cover that slides on to the calculator.

Horribly inaccurate at numerical integration.
Gets numerical integration wrong. Get it to integrate sin(2*pi/X) from 0.01 to 0.1 and the answer has a relative error close to 100%. IMO this makes it unsuitable for professional use and less than ideal even for school use. Comparable Canon, Casio, and TI devices are better IMO.
