Replacement Right and Left Internal Speaker for MacBook pro 15" A1707 2016 2017 A1990 2018 2019 Subwoofer Retina with Touch Bar

After a few years of dealing with my blown MacBook Pro 15” 2016 with Touch Bar speaker (left side), I decided to try replacing them with these speakers. I decided to just replace the left because the right one was working perfectly fine, and didn’t want to mess with the adhesive. The tools in this kit came in handy, and I only really needed the blue driver and blue plastic pic. A flat head screwdriver would help to with prying the speaker off too.After following the steps to replace the speaker online, hardest part being removing the speaker, I put everything back together but the sound from the new speaker was really distorted (low-mids). After doing some reading, most people were saying it was an issue with the adhesive not being sealed/strong enough. However, the adhesive on these speakers were just fine. I ended up fixing the distortion by simply putting a few pieces of electrical tape on the back cover, where it lines up to the speakers (you’ll see 2 small little pads on each side of the cover where the speakers will touch, next to the clips that hold the cover on the sides). I put a few pieces of tape across the pads to keep the speakers snug and preventing rattling. After putting it back together again, the sound was perfect! Definitely recommend.

It took about 20 minutes to do the installation. Most of that time was spent removing the old speaker. I only had to replace the left speaker, so I'm keeping the right speaker as a backup in case the right speaker fails. I had to use a metal nail file to pry the old speaker out. Once that was done it was easy to install. The new speaker comes with adhesive tape so it drops in easily. Sound quality is the same as the original. It was great that kit included the tools to open the laptop case.

Bought these to replace a blown speaker in my MacBook Pro. I installed them with the included tools without much trouble but after putting everything back together I tested the laptop and found the replacement speaker was also defective. Thankfully Amazon refunded me and I tried again with a different brand of speakers which sound as good as the OEM Apple ones.

Be careful disconnecting the old speakers before removing them from the plate. One plugs straight in and the other slips out from the bottom. The old speakers are glued on and don't come off easily. You need to clean all the old glue before installing the new speakers. They fit perfectly and work well. The tool kit is a must.

sound quality is good, working fine, but I can't tell whether the original one is better or notit comes with the 3M tape, once pry open the bad speaker, just stick this new one back on it.The tools and screw driver provided here are convenient to use, it helps to get the job done.I would recommend if you want to change the speaker yourself.

The media could not be loaded. Sound good. Does not have the same bass sound as the originals but they work very well

Got these for my aging 2018 MBP... they do the job but definitely not the same quality as the original speakers. I would equate these to cheap speakers you might find in a Chinese bluetooth speaker -- minimal to no bass response and expect them to be overdriven with the slightest of bass. Do they work? Sure... but definitely not the original Apple quality I expected. I'll be on the look out for better replacements.

Can't say if they're 100% OEM, but they sound reeeeally dang close. Bass is rich enough for my taste, vocals sound nice and clear, and mids are right where they should be. Sounds dramatically better than my previous crackly pair. First time DIY on this MBP. I managed to get it done with a pair of tweezers, no heat, no alcohol needed. I live life on the edge. Remember to disconnect the trackpad flex cable and battery terminal to be on the safe side ;) !!!! Saved myself $150!!
