switched out old one of same brand and other than changing cord from old to new it took apx 15 minutes. theonly difference was the new one is stainless steel where the old one was not and was a total rusted mess on the inside. very happy.

I think this is a great choice for a replacement disposal, needing to replace the builder grade unit that had been in my house for 15 or 20 years before requiring replacement.This unit installed very easily, just like others I have swapped at other properties. You require some basic plumbing tools and plumber putty. I ended up replacing the drain parts below the sink because the diameter is just a little narrower than what was there before, even with the higher HP. It runs quietly and eats ice like it's just a pile of pretzels. Reputable brand, good value, very satisfied!

It's very powerful and quiet at the same time, bought it more than 6 months ago.

I Received the product tonight at 7:15 PM.... They were to deliver this morning between 7 and 10 amThen a notification came to me to deliver between 7 - 10:00 PM.The disposal was boxed inside another box which was not secured very well.When I picked up the package it was shaking around it the Amazon box so I don't know what kind of bouncing around it took during transport.Several weeks later..... still working fine but a bit noisy. I think it's because of the steel sinkWill it affect the disposal? I don't know. But if I have issues with it later I will maybe know why.This is the Badger 5xp 3/4 hp. It is larger than the other one I've had in the sink for over 20 years.I bought Badger even though some of the reviews were not very positive. But my past experience with Badger has been nothing but very good. I can only hope their quality has not diminished.I thought it came with a new cord but it did not. No problem because all I have to do is use the old one which is in very good condition.Lowes wanted $138.00 to install. After looking at the instructions its a no brainer even at my old age of 77.Unplug, unhook the water hose from the dishwasher, unscrew the pipe from the drain and Voila it's done. I think I can handle it. With my luck there is always something that will make it a difficult task. You know how it is. One screw will not come loose or one bracket does not fit like the rest of them.If there are any issues I'll update my review.P,.s I ordered the rubber gasket for the drain instead of going out to buy plumbers putty and then not using the stuff after I use a dab or two on this project.

After over 10 years my InSinkErator started leaking. I did some research and read some reviews and decided to upgrade from a 1/2 horsepower to the InSinkErator 5XP 3/4 horsepower. I pulled the old one out Monday night and Amazon had a brand new, unopened one at my door on Tuesday afternoon.I had to pull out the cord from the old one, It was hard wired so I had to take it apart but it was simple. I had to come up with two hole wire nuts, can you believe that. I was so mad and frustrated, no I wasn't, simple fix. The install took me five minutes and only a screw driver and channel locks to do it.Very nice upgrade to the InSinkErator Badger 5XP Garbage Disposal, Standard Series 3/4 HP. The old InSinkErator had a good run the upgrade will probably last another 10 years.I'm very pleased with Amazon and the InSinkErator brand disposal. It's quiet for a 3/4 HP eating machine, It's a simple plug and play if you're just swapping out an old disposal. Read reviews, watch some videos, don't get frustrated over a cord you should know you need or a few wire nuts.

Not cheap but still a good value

We were so impressed with this garbage disposal, it’s really quiet. It doesn’t take long to cut through the waste. My husband said it was really easy to install.
