Very close to the game I bought in the 1980s. Great value.
I was looking for a replacement of my fishing game which I purchased back in the early 1980s. This new version, is very similar to the old one, as you can see in the photos I attached. The old one is on the right, and is slightly larger, but otherwise they are very similar. Hopefully this new one will give me as long a life as the old one did. Seems to be well constructed, and runs on one C battery. The old one ran on a D battery. Especially like this electronic fishing game because it does not have music and is very simple and straightforward. Cost is very good so this is a great value. My grade is an A.

Good for temporary entertainment
Cute little fishing game for my young children. It's made of cheap plastic but keeps them entertained. The little fishing poles that come with it bend very easily so watch them carefully.

I'm 50/50 on this Game! see my description!
I enjoyed this game for my children, however, I bought this particular game for my Grandson and I have to say, sadly its like most toys unparticular, in that the game is just not made the same. The original Go Fishing had sturdy fish, (one of the fish in the pond broke almost immediately-with normal ware and care) the old game had magnets on an actual string. Now the poles are completely plastic, and it just isn't the same game. My grandson plays with it (minus 2 fish now..lol) and seems to still enjoy it but he doesn't have the history to compare it to. So, it is still a fun game for kids. We oldtimers were blessed with the original craftsmanship. However, in defense of the creator, I understand lawsuits, etc. is part of the reason for changes. The other is cost. That is purely my opinion!
