5 stars
This machine is a beauty. Seemingly well built with a nice design. The controls are glass hard, capacitive type, look great and easy to clean. The machine can enclose a small mason jar on its side, but will not do wide mouth or even many standard mouth jars. The top of the unit is a matte silver, plastic, looks fantastic, the double sided hinge is smooth and sturdy. Machine sports a large, aluminum grab bar to easily open and close chamber. The air pump is relatively quiet, it has a deep, easy to tolerate sound. The whole machine is lightweight and portable. Roughly 25 lbs. It is a great looking unit, very easy on the eyes and NSF certified. The pump does run for seal only option. There is no accessory port for a suction tube. It does not have a bag cutter built into it. There is no storage bay. The power cord has no housing or wrap post. Power cord not removable.Great machine, really like it.*Update*Seal bar is actually 11 and 5/8 wide, which was a nice surprise.Works great.

Do not purchase this unit
Bought this unit and it failed (seal bar) within a year. After horrible experience with customer service (took days for them to get back to me when nobody was available every time I called), they sent a warranty replacement. Second unit failed (shortly after warranty period), this time it was the vacuum pump (error E1: couldn't reduce pressure below -10 on the dial scale). Again, customer service and tech support were unavailable and of zero help (multiple messages and emails left with no or slow returns. Email returns referred me to the trouble shooting chart in the manual and a list of authorized service centers....the closest one to me is over 100 miles away). Waring has been a huge disappointment to me and I recommend staying clear of Waring products.

Impossible to get service; Waring incommunicado.
Two stars because it worked for a while.Bought product in 2020. Worked well into 2023, started to not seal with good vacuum. Replaced gasket, no improvement. Called Waring's support - they told me to take it to an authorized dealer in my area. I asked for one - the reply was "Don't you have Google"? I got three shops and each one replied "we don't work on those". I found a longer list online. All but one said the same thing (and I'm in the NYC area, not the desert). The last one said they service them, but I'm not in their area and they don't allow drop-offs at their office. So I'm throwing away a $900 appliance because Waring won't provide a way to fix it. They have also not responded to email and web form correspondence in almost two weeks. Don't buy things from Waring.

Do Not Purchase!
If I could give less than one star, I would. I had this product less than one year and the effectiveness of the vacuum went down significantly. So I requested a claim via the additional protection purchased through Assurion. When I filed the claim it was accepted but they wanted me to mail in the unit. When I let them know, via chat, I use it daily and mailing it in was not really feasible, they said ok no problem. Chat was cut off, so I called them. I was then notified that I was misinformed by Assurion's representative and the only way I could get it fixed, replaced, and/or be issued a full refund was to mail it in. Highly recommend purchasing another brand of vacuum sealer, as not only does this one not last but the warranty is basically useless, if you use it more than once every 4-6 weeks.

excellent first impressions
Just arrived, and unboxed it. I’m glad I had bags from my game saver that had the rough texture inside for allowing the air out.I did a few sample runs using the smooth baga it come with and some dry dog food and was horribly disappointed, then I used my other bags and was shocked by the difference. Then did a pint of cream corn and it worked perfect. Got daring and put a couple cups of water in a bag and it even vacuumed it down without a drop spilled. Did have a few tiny bubbles of air but that was expected with water :)Overall first impressions are EXCELLENT, if it holds up and is durable enough to do 10-20 bags a week I will be very happy with this one.

So far so good.
I've had this Vacuum Sealer for a couple months now, and have sealed about 70 bags of chicken breasts and steaks without trouble. I went through all the smaller bags it came with, and am now using "FoodVacBags" brand bags and they work just fine in the sealer. The other 1-star review from "andy" mentioning problems - I haven't experienced anything like that, and upon inspection the vacuum sealer seems very durable and I have no idea how his stuff is falling apart. His review isn't "Verified Purchase" so take it with a grain of salt.Should this vacuum sealer have durability issues in the coming months, I will revise my review.

UPDATE:This vacuum chamber was awesome but is unreliable!
Use this vacuum chamber weekly to bag food. Easy to use and pulls 24 inches of mercury at 5000’ is pretty decent! Completely happy with this purchase!**** Had this chamber for 4 years now ,we use our about 5 times a week and it has broken now for the second time. This last time was when we had $200 fresh food that need to be vacuum bagged immediately. Time to upgrade to a real commercial chamber.
