A Little Too Roomy But Nice
The case came as promised in good packaging. The package consists of a rather large box with another box inside that holds the case.Everything appeared exactly as the picture online. It seems well constructed. The inside is overly roomy. My violin fit easily in the case. The case has two velcro closures, one for the violin neck and the other for a shoulder rest next to the pegs on the inside wall. If I were carrying the case around the violin would be slipping side to side by as much as 1/2 inch or more in the area of the violin's lower bout. That bothered me a little. I had some 2" foam cushion material. I cut two egg shaped ovals with the foam cushion material to fit snugly in the C bouts of the violin and this completely solved the slipping problem. The case also comes with a cover for the violin. The case has two spring loaded latches that operate flawlessly. I'm hopeful that the springs will continue to work for a long time. I don't use the included straps and the metal attachment rings are a little irritating, noisily flopping against the sides of the case when ever it is picked up or moved. There are four of these rings. I'm sure they are handy for those who like to carry hands free. The case also has the typical compartment above the pegs suitable for extra strings, rosin, mutes, etc. The compartment lid also has a spring loaded self-closing feature. The case has a humidity level indicator (Hydrometer) which might come in handy in drier climates. Overall I'm impressed with the construction of this case. If you are a traveling musician you might be better off with a sturdier, higher priced case, but in my opinion, this case is solidly constructed and quite adequate for school and home instrument protection. For $99.00 you are getting a pretty good deal.

Very good case for the price -- light and durable.
This is a knockoff of the very expensive Bam carbon-fiber "hightech" case at about one-sixth of the price. Quality is good, and I would recommend it with caveats. Definitely 5 stars for the price. This category of case is for people who want light weight and compactness. You can barely fit a shoulder rest and two bows, but there's not much room for accessories. To my surprise the Vio case is slightly lighter than the Bam case -- about 4 pounds 5 ounces with straps. The Bam, with straps, weighs in at 4 pounds 12 ounces. By comparison, most durable violin cases go 6 pounds and up.The high-gloss finish on the Vio will get scuffed up quickly but that is true for Bam cases as well. They will show wear.Straps and fittings -- Bam's hinges are better, handle is better, straps are better -- but again, is it $450 better? The Bam also has a key lock which may or may not be of value.I have two concerns about the Vio that might justify the higher price of the Bam.1) If you put weight on the top of the Vio case above the body of the violin, the plastic will flex. If you put a very heavy object, or fell on the case, you would risk damaging bows or violin. The Bam is much more rigid on the top. I don't know that the Bam would provide 100% protection in, say, the event of falling off a bicycle, but your odds would almost certainly be better.2) Interior padding of the Vio is not adequate. They do provide a padded blanket, but there is not enough padding around the edge of the violin. It's too roomy for a standard violin and the body would rattle around a bit. This would be easily remedied by just adding some padding. Even a little bubble wrap wrapped in cloth would be fine.To sum up, I think this Vio case is awesome for the price, very light and a great alternative to the super expensive Bam Hightech line. For students, a good choice and quite stylish. At the same time, if you're carrying around a valuable instrument on your bike or in places where the case can get squeezed or banged, the Bam case may be worth the money. If compactness and weight are not super important to you, I would check out the less pricey Bam models or, especially, Bobelock cases which are very durable and relatively inexpensive.

Nice and light case with much lower price tag than bam
I purchased this for my daughter's second violin - which is for her school orchestra use. The first violin is stored with bam's case, which costed more than $600 including tax. I'll compare Vio with Bam, though they are not in the same league.1. I don't know how sturdy Vio is or Bam is, as I haven't had such impact on the case. However, if I just push down the case, I feel its sturdiness would be similar to bam case.2. Latches are lower in quality compared to bam, however, I think they are good enough. In bam case, two connecting loops position on the narrow part is on the sides, so if you want to put just one strap to hang on one shoulder and case hangs horizontally, it's more convenient. However, if you are going to put it on both shoulders with two straps (like backpack), vio's connecting loop position (bottom) is ok, too.3. Strap material and connector parts of bam is much better. Vio is ok, though.4. Bam case has a handle on narrow top, so that you can hold the case vertically on the ground, while vio doesn't.5. Bam case opens completely (180 degree), while vio case opens up to vertical position (90 degree)6. Inside material of bam looks better. Also, it has less padding. Compared to bam's case, case height is lower. I think this is the reason (or result) of less padding. I guess lower height contributes the lighter weight with less material.7. On my vio case, small compartment's (for rosin, etc.) cover doesn't fit / close perfectly. In fact cover is a little smaller than the compartment on my case. Bam fits perfectly, of course.8. It could be due to different violin, violin fits into the case a little uncomfortably compared to bam, but the violin in bam is different violin.9. It's very light just as bam. (same shape and design and similar material)Overall, there are many small things which are worse than bam case, this is for sure. However, I think vio case is definitely worth more than 60% of bam case, if its sturdiness is close to bam's sturdiness.I'd like to recommend this if you are looking for light, but not so expensive case, if your violin is not so expensive one.
