I have a Ryobi 790r. At most retailers, a replacement carburetor is at least $45+, so i guess I should have known that $17 may not get you a functioning carb. Merely a rebuild kit for my current carb is $22+. I bought this because i didn't want to rebuild the old one. It is important to note that this carb is designated as a replacement and is a little different from the original carb in that the Hi/Lo mixture adjustment screws are a different form factor, some of the internal fuel paths look different, and the over all size is slllliiiiggghtly bigger. This doesn't necessarily mean the replacement carb won't function for this engine, however, it also doesn't mean it will definitely work either. Thus, I could not get the Ryobi 790r to start when using this carburetor. I'm now forced to try to rebuild the old one. I can provide an update but I don't think any one cares...

This is a very nice kit, and comes with just about everything one would need to do the job, including a carb adjustment tool. There are no instructions, but it's pretty easy to figure out. I used this kit to repair a Ryobi 725R, and everything worked perfectly. Starts up and runs great with just two or three pulls. My Ryobi trimmer is around 15 years old, and runs as good as it did when it was new. (30 to 1 fuel/oil mixture with REC 90 gas)Installing the fuel filter is a bit of a task, but there are instructions on youtube that will help with this. The supplied fuel lines fit perfectly. I had everything up and running like new again within about an hour, (or I should say, my wife did) I was of little to no help, other than fine tuning the carburetor.

Perfect fit for my Ryobi 720rI only need the carb and gaskets because I had already replaced the fuel line.Fit perfectly, ran rich ar first. And would stall out. But this kit has the adjustment tool. A couple of turns on the low screw and and it was perfect. If I did it again I would reset the screws first following a YouTube video. I had bought a different kit previously without an ajudtment tool. It also was tuned rich but the screws were sealed and tamper proof. This is a better kit.

comes with everything that you need for a replacement priced just the diaphragm and for a couple dollars more got the hold carb installed and engine ran like new . this is a real old weed trimmer that the diaphragm got brittle from age.

I bought this for my ryobi 725r string trimmer, due to the fact it was easier than trying to repair the old carburetor. Some parts did not come with the kit. It was missing the line connections, and one of the most important pieces was the tool to adjust the carburetor. Also the fuel pickup.

You get what you pay for...got this new out of the box and couldn’t get it to work. Should have know as cheap as it was. The old carburetor would at least attempt to start, this one wouldn’t do anything. It’s so cheap that it’s Not even worth sending back, guess they know that....Money thrown Away!
