Improves in the second half and was enjoyable, read Venomverse first.
Collects: X-Men Blue #21-22 + Annual #1 and Venom #162-163.I purchased the comic digitally separate from Amazon, so I can't comment on the physical quality of it.Once again following Spider-Man Venom Inc. we have another crossover issue this time involving the X-Men. I am a fan of the X-Men however I'm not familiar with the current or recent runs of it so it was different from my knowledge on X-Men, for instance about Cyclops' father which is what kicks off this volume. The story is Cyclops is on a video chat with his father who is a member of the Starjammers (a group of space pirates) are attacked, Scott sees a glimpse of one of the attackers and recognizes that the attacker possessed a Symbiote this drawing the X-Men's focus to Eddie Brock and his Symbiote Venom for help. I will say this does require some previous reading and luckily it's just one, Venomverse which I have reviewed as well. There is also Edge of Venomverse I also reviewed this but it's not really necessary and Venomverse is more than sufficient.Overall, i thought it was average at first but really picked up halfway through and I did enjoy it. I didn't care much for the artwork in the opening annual issue but it improved in the following issues. I'd say this is worth a purchase especially if you are following this run of Venom, however I didn't enjoy it as much as Venom Inc. I don't think this style of X-Men is to my taste though and will stick with the older stuff from the likes of Claremont and Byrne.Hopefully you found this review helpful and happy reading.

Bad state
Four pages were almost completely ripped out, clearly they were damaged and without them the comic was sold as ‘used - very good’

Great team-up
I really liked this story. X-men blue is one of my favorite current series, but this story made me interested in Venom. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the respective series.

Good story, Scott is mid (per usual)
Tbh I had a lot of missing context (need to read more modern xmen apparently) and I wasn't super in love with this version of the xmen or the antagonists (partially their names, partially their motivation for life) but it proved a good story overall and crucial for continuing the story at hand!

X-men/venom vs POISON
Not a fan of XMen but this proved interesting. It felt like venom had joined the guardians of the galaxy again for a bit

Black and Blue
After an unintended hiatus, I'm back to fallowing the exploits of the young, time-displaced X-Men. The events of the last volume have revealed to these heroes that they will have no choice but to return to their own time, and soon. How much does this effect them? Not much actually, the book kinda skipping it over. Instead the story gets into motion when Cyclops' space pirate father (yes, really) gets captured by symbiote wearing mercenaries. The X-Men must journey into space to rescue him and his crew, but not without kidnapping a symbiote expert to help them; Eddie Brock's Venom. The story also loosely fallows up the Venomverse event, and leads into the Venomized event. Hopefully you have some knowledge of writer Cullen Bunn's work on those series or you might be somewhat lost. The story itself is pretty good. I've already said I like how Bunn handles the younger X-Men, but I was impressed by his handling of Venom as a character as well. I do wish this had done a better job fallowing the previous volume, but it's still a fun crossover. I should mention though that it's not a very long story for the issue count. A total of four artists worked on this volume and the art is all good. My favorite would have to be the Venom issues art by Edgar Salazar and Ario Anindito. Overall, it's a fine collection. Not the best of this series, but still a worthwhile addition.3/5
