Was great until it failed
I bought this lens a little over 2 years ago for my Pentax K-1. Overall I was very pleased the lens. It seemed sturdy and well built. Images were reasonably sharp. I used it mostly for landscape and astrophotography. It's not without any aberrations, but it does a good job for the price. Manual focus works well for this focal length. It's great that it is weather-sealed.Unfortunately, it recently died though. It had not seen heavy use and was well cared for. The camera is no longer able to control the aperture, so it gives an error message and will not take a photo. Searching on the internet, it appears I'm not the only one who's had this issue with this lens. It took the company about a month to respond to my initial inquiry. They suggested getting a quote from their authorized repair center. It's out of warranty, and I suspect it will not be worth the cost of trying to have it repaired.I would have given it at least 4 stars if it still worked, but if it only has a 2 year lifespan, it's definitely not worth the money.

ANice Lens but ...
A nice lens. I should have bought the firefly version. Too heavy. A little too much COMA and Astigmatism for night landscapes (sigh) ...

I had trouble getting a clear photo
The lens is built to the highest metal standards, glass seems to be very good. However I had trouble getting a clear photo, perhaps I am too used to auto focus? Give it a try as it is very wide angle and fast prime lens.

Well built and weather sealed wide prime
Nice and fast wide angle prime, great for landscape and astrophotography. The manual focus isn't for everyone but this is a nice alternative if you can't afford the DFA 15-30mm
