Origine Pilota 3/4 Helmet with Blinc Bluetooth

This helmet shows up on "best open-faced helmet" lists all over the web, so I bought it to be my summer lid. I'm sorry to say but this thing is not great. First problem: I had to basically tear the thing apart to locate the bluetooth charging port, which is hidden at the BACK of the INSIDE of the helmet in a very stupid and incredibly awkward place that makes it nearly impossible to get the charging cord to attach to - behind a tiny panel, the cover of which comes off completely and is very easily lost. Second problem: The cheek pads kept coming unbuttoned way too easily. Third problem: Once I got the bluetooth working, a) the controls on the helmet are not intuitive, and b) I could hear absolutely nothing if I was traveling over 40 mph.Sorry, but I returned this guy.

I would have happily paid the price for the design alone. It's both unique and classic. I spent a long time looking for aesthetic 3/4 helmets, and this is by far the best I could find.I'm usually a medium, but I had to send my first order back for a small. I say they run big. But returning it was easy and the refund came quickly.The Bluetooth didn't give me much trouble once I figured it out the first time. It's basically the same as pairing headphones or a Bluetooth speaker. The USB plug is right under the padding at the back of the neck. If you glance at the instructions, it explains everything.I didn't have technical issues others have mentioned. The sound quality isn't incredible, but it works. Listening to music cruising at slow speeds is a joy - it definitely gets hard to hear above 30-40 mph. My partner and I both have one, so we're also able to talk to each other on the road, which is honestly SO COOL. It makes me feel like I'm in a jet or playing a video game. For the style and fun factor, I say yes.

We purchased two of these helmets for a recent trip we took. We loved the retro look of the helmet. My husband didn't like the visor as he felt it was too much with the bike windshield and sunglasses so took it off. This obviously affected the microphone for the bluetooth. However, even with both visors on the helmets, at faster speeds, the wind still rushes under the visor and interferes with the microphone so we couldn't hear each other through the blue tooth. Was disappointed in this as the main reason we bought these was so we could easily communicate on our trip. In the end, we didn't even use this feature.

The half visor is useless in my opinion. Basically good for blocking bugs not wind. Other than that I've had no other issues with it. The plug is in the neck band which is not where i would have put it, but I'm very careful to pull back the neck padding really well before i plug it in and then place the padding gently over the plug so as to not push on the plug sideways (which is what will mess up the plug (see other reviews)) the Mic isn't right by the mouth so yes if the wind is high they can't hear you speak well. So keep it Unger 40 mph to use the Mic. The speakers are great tho and i mostly use it for music anyway.

This is my first motorcycle helmet purchase so I don't have a lot of other similar items to compare it to but I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase. The helmet itself is fantastic quality for the price. I double-checked my head size and ordered against the size chart on their website. The helmet fits perfectly and is very comfortable. The items pictured are not quite accurate. I ordered the matte black/grey stripe color which is depicted with a smoke visor but the visor I received was clear. The only gripe I have is that when the visor is moved down in place there is some air leakage around the edges. My favorite feature is the Blinc Bluetooth integration. The Blinc hardware works perfectly with my iPhone 6 and is very easy to use. The sound quality is very reasonable for what it is. Don't expect Beats quality audio. I can use the BT connection to stream music or get voice cues from Google maps perfectly. I absolutely recommend this helmet.

I am very disappointed in this helmet. The charging plug does not make good contact without having to remove the entire cover off the charging port and even then it does not make good contact. I called customer service and was told "oh thats the old model" which was not mentioned in the description. I gave it 2 stars because the sound is good and the fit is good.

I was really paranoid reading all the negative nacys about the helmet not fitting but it is true to size a medium is a damn medium.The Bluetooth is crystal clear with music and calls.How do I know you ask. I harassed my wife until she called me from another room to tell me about her day.As a first time buyer I have no buyers remorse. I still get a semi every time I take the helmet out of the awesome bag it came with! I really recommend this helmet to everyone, unless you like wearing other helmets that don't look cool and doesn't have a ton of sex appeal like this one.

I love this helmet the problem is the other reviews are correct they don't make an extra large. This is the first extra large I ever had that was to tight. I'm gonna keep it and suffer because I like it and the Bluetooth but the seller should be clear to customers. It will not fit a large head. I have a large head. Not huge. Not even extra large just large, other than that love it. Great quality
