Nice and well-built!The packaging, the mini suitcase that comes with it, and the device itself look pretty premium—more than I expected.I used it during some inspections in pump rooms with sewage pumps. I was always concerned about the sewage fumes and their possible harm to my health. I couldn't get it to trigger, which is good for me, as I have been to those pump rooms several times before this device.It is now always in my belt when doing any service close to sewage. It can stay on for a very long time. It is turn-on and forget-it. It only turns off if the battery dies or you manually turn it off.I never managed to use all the battery; it should last for several hours as they say.I do miss a USB charging; it is 2024, and everything is USB-C. This one came with a USB mini B; it is not even a micro USB. Weird. But hey, as it comes with that amazing suitcase, I won't knock a star off due to this.

The TOPTES Guard has really impressed me for the price at the time of review (£39.99). Being a single gas detector it is much smaller and compact when compared to their other products that can detect up to four gases.The tester arrived well packaged in a very presentable cardboard box. Located inside was a hard-shell case that contains the tester itself along with manual, charging cable and calibration plate.I found the case, while not up there with Peli, it was more than suitable for housing and keeping the tester safe.The testers housing feels like it is made from quality materials. The blue is solid but has like a rubbery grip feel to it. The buttons are strong and responsive, and the back lite screen is bright and easy to read. It does claim to be explosion proof!On power up the device runs through a self-test and alarm cycle so you can be sure everything is working as is should be.The only negative I could find was that is it still using Mini USB for charging. Not the end of the world as they do include a charging cable but seems a bit out of date with everything being USB-C nowadays.

The media could not be loaded. A very well made portable gas detector which is very well made and designed for your protection in the home or work place. Stored in a robust suitcase style box which is dust and waterproof. Can be clipped with a mount onto your work wear and has a build in triple alarm system with a visual, audible and vibration alarm which would work very well in any environment. The best feature I think is that it stores all the alarm data which is a life save in the event of needing medical attention, alert medics of any exposure and amounts for a medical emergency.

This is very robust and has survived lots of bashes and the odd drop so far!The unit is a big chunky but well made. With a secure clip.In testing it reports correctly, and with how long the rechargeable battery lasts it will offer a lot of protection.The detector also comes in a very sturdy box. With the unit and accessories it feels like a lot more expensive unit.
