B&M 80885 Hammer Automatic Shifter

Great price tons of options to fit many applications

Received it quickly and installed the shifter complete less plastic housing. I then went to trim it and it is broken-out from the inside on the aft side that is visible. It was broken by the way it was packaged with the metal shifter inside of the plastic surround. Not really happy and not about to remove the complete assy to return.

Works well in my 1987 El Camino / TH200-4R.

Fits the 4L60E behind 355 SBC in my '93 Safari. Needed the 8' cable to make a loop with no hard bends.It shifts hard and takes some getting used to but I'm happy with the purchase. I removed the spring steel that catches the detents on the shifter as the trans has adequate stops.

Fast on time every thing works no send backs

I ordered this to install in a G-body Monte Carlo with a 200R4 overdrive transmission. I needed something with the shift indicator beside the shifter so I could tell what gear it was in. Right out of the box, the tabs for the shift indicator window were broken. Fixed that using some plastic glue. After install, the shifter is very hard to get into gear. This may be because I am not used to a ratchet style shifter, but I am not a fan. Will intall my stock shifter as soon as I get a chance.

My shifter arrived with the wire off the led indicator light. Of course I noticed it after the shifter was installed. So I soldered that up and not two weeks later the other wire came off the led. Of course I fixed that and so far so good. Not even three months later though the indicator cable broke. With the cost of the cable and shipping it's another 30+ dollars. Didn't fix that as I'm pretty pissed spending the extra money when I already paid a decent buck for the shifter. As for the shifter? After installing and the proper adjustments were made, it shifts great/fine. I have had no issues what so ever with it. If your shifter is binding then you need to properly adjust the linkage. All in all it's a good shifter. Just wish B&M put a bit more quality in the other moving parts. Really not to happy with the indicator cable failure so soon. As this shifter is being used in my P30 service truck. And if your reading this review B&M; sure would be great if you sent me a replacement indicator cable...Hint, Hint...

Not installed and won't be for some time. Nova is being dismantled for body work...new glass and 6 coats of paint.

Very happy with this shifter. Looks great and feels great. Had my own idea for mounting which took some fabricating but the results were worth it.Read all the instructions before attempting to install. Easy to install.

Not a very good shifter. Stiff movement,wont shift back into park reverse from drive unless you shift into 2nd then you can pull leaver up to shift back. Shift indicator does not work as the plastic sleave the cable runs through is pinched to tight at factory mounting points for the cable to move freely through.

Does not work properly, mechanism becomes loose, stops shifting properly into 1st ,2nd
