Merino is nice
My first merino piece, so I can't speak to its comparative quality. I will say that before buying I read many Amazon and reddit comments and decided this was the best bet for a sub $80 merino base layer top.I am impressed with the quality. Wore it in 70 plus degree Florida weather, on a plane, and then in sub 20 degree Colorado weather (2 days in a row) . Comfortable throughout. No bad smell either, which would be a problem with cotton/synthetic.The thumb holes are a nice touch. Since this is a baselayer you'll likely be wearing a pullover on top. The thumb holes allow you to keep the shirt sleeves in place when adding layers. I didn't keep my thumbs in the holes too long after though because the sleeves aren't too long. The neck is fitted and the shirt length is long enough to tuck in. Good amount of stetchiness. Can't vouch for durability yet, but seems promising.

230gsm (mid-weight) feels much nicer than 190gsm
It’s extra-long in the torso, a bit weirdly so, making it suitable for tucking in but less so for sporting untucked for casual wear (for example, look at how funny-long it looks even in the model pics). But the 230gsm material feels very nice on the skin, hence my high rating. The fit except for the torso length is good too, especially the long sleeves (being 6’1” and 138 pounds, I find it difficult to find snug fits that are long enough).Weirdly , I also tried the 190gsm variant of this base layer and it was both worse (looser) in fit and more importantly, the material felt (slightly) scratchier. The gsm difference between the two is not that much but the feel is different, enough for me to keep the 230 and return the 190.Also worth noting that the 190gsm piece I tried is Graphite while the 230 is Charcoal Marle, which could well have made a difference if the weaves as opposed to just the colors are different.

Nice quality, warmer than cotton
It's a little thinner than I expected, but it's softer than I expected too. Feels like a long sleeve cotton t-shirt. Being wool it's warmer than cotton of course. It will be a nice second layer for backpacking, worn over a wicking t shirt and under a fleece and wind/rain shell as part of a full cool weather system. This is my first wool shirt that's not a sweater and I'm impressed by the quality.

Very happy with this...
Quality, comfortable, and perfect (light)weight, adding warmth without overheating. The tall size is definitely long, which I like but just FYI. Very happy with this...

For use in cold weather only
some posters have said that they use this to layer clothing during rather warm weather . No, no, no. this is not a light weight wool. I can only wear it during colder temps . The quality of the product seems excellent .

Great seller, Great shirt!
This shirt fits as described. Extra length from the tall is a nice look. I like the color and the thumbholes. The seller was helpful when I needed to correspond after buying. A+ experience!
