Full and successful and safe cloning

Despite some negative reviews, this particular unit performed flawlessly for me. I initialized the new 2TB M.2 PCIe NVMEquali drive by inserting it into the source socket, USB connecting to a Win 10 laptop, using the Win 10 disk manager (which recognized the new, non-initialized, non-formatted, non-partitioned drive) to create a simple volume and format it. That allowed Explorer (as well as disk manager) to recognize it with correct 2TB capacity. Installed 1TB source and 2TB target in deck, AFTER DISCONNECTING DECK-LAPTOP CABLE. Powered up and got source/target leds lit. Hit "clone" button for 5 seconds to get all leds flashing for 2-3 seconds. And the hit clone button briefly again. This lit up to blink all the 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% leds. They stayed lit until each percentage was cloned and then went out sequentially. The cloning took 90-120 minutes. The was virtually no heat produced. Cloned drive worked perfectly in the source computer (2240 into 2280) EXCEPT that target retained the original source 1TB partition with remainder being 5GB recovery and a 950 non alloted partitions. In my case, the recovery partition was between the primary (healthy) one and the empty one, so that I could not use Window's disk management to resize the healthy Primary into the empty one. There is NO Windows utility to move partitions but I had EaseUS Patition Manager on another computer. Using the deck with USB connection, it was easy and safe to resize the target SSD to its full capacity. I do not know if any cloning decks "automatically" adjust the target partition. A number of software cloning programs do, however. For me, a deck is easier and safer. There may be some quality control issues with these decks, so check them out quickly. Also, be sure your M.2 SSD to be cloned is PCIe and not SATA.

So tiny, yet so useful.

I had used cloning hardware before with the older 3.5" drives, but have since turned to software cloning until I found this tiny setup. It is much faster and easier with this and more cost effective. My main purpose is to always keep a good backup of my main operating system so I could simply swap it over in the event the drive was corrupt or failed. I initially had issues with the first unit received by the awesome support team didn't leave me hanging and help to trouble shoot with a firmware update. After that didn't resolve the issue, they quickly ensure that I had a working unit asap. Now that is a support I can feel confident in continuing to buy their products.

SSK Duplicator - Works great!!! Can see drives and can copy quick

I used this to make a backup of my server NVMe and it rocks. The unit is aluminum and seemed to pull the heat off ok. I had a little fan next to it because it was my first copy but just having a well ventilated are should be fine. For a 256GB copy I could not believe how fast it went. I started it and when I looked back from doing a few things it was already done. For the size it is very small and the design had a dust cover. All the lights worked well and I am actually impressed.I also plugged it into my laptop and I could see the drives without an issue. I only used up to a 1TB drive but no problems. Very in expensive and worked great... 5 Stars!

Your mileage may vary.

BitLocker was not a factor in my transfer - Windows - with recovery partition.NVMe Source: Samsung SSD 980 3500 mb/sNVMe Target: WD Black 2TB 7100 7250 mb/sPurchased this to clone a 1TB Samsung NVME to a 2TB WD Black NVMe. The method is straight forward:Plug in your original to copy into Source, and the other into the Target. Plug in the power, turn on the device. Both lights in front of the NVMe should light up indicating they're available and functioning. I had several issues here. With both lights on, hold the clone button for 3-5 seconds until the progress lights blink (25%, 50,%, 75,% 100%).Once blinking, press the clone button to confirm. My clone start to finish, on the working try, took 25 minutes.Simple product to use. The issues I encountered:Source NVMe wouldn't light up to show the connection was working. Power off/unplug, plug in, make sure the connection is clear of dust, anything in the way, etc. Reseated a few times, no luck. I plugged it into the Target and it lit up. Unplugged, plugged in, target side was working. Maybe there is a hardware issue on the Source plug. Plugged into the Source and it lit up. Mind you, each time you do this, you have to turn the product off/on.Finally started the clone process. Lights blink, NVMes lights are blinking showing read/write. Then the blinking stops, the source light just blinks. Something went wrong. I did this a few times, each time progressing slightly further in time duration, up to about 5 minutes before it would fail.I pulled the target NVMe and did a full format, not a quick, so this took 10-15 minutes. Assuming maybe something was up with the target.Back to trying the clone and getting everything to light up. Ran through the clone several more times, each time progressing further before it would fail. The NVMe didn't get hot, but warm, so I took a fan and turned it on them for air circulation. It took 3-4 more attempts, each progressing further than the last until the copy completed. I was able to get 25% at 5:05 minutes, then 50% at 10:23 minutes, 75% at 16:05, and a final completion at 25:21 minutes.Overall from first time to final completion was about 2 hours. Could it have been my source? Maybe. Could it have been the target? Maybe. But what I know is by re-running it each time, it progressively made it further on the copy. Could heat have been an issue? Maybe.I also purchased with the bundle the separate NVMe drive which I used with USB-C to format the drive, verify both drives were functioning could read/write to them through it.True clone. If the partitions are not side by side, you won't be able to extend the primary partition onto it. You could delete the partition between them, or use something like Mini partition wizard I think it was which is free and will resolve the issue of extending the drive easily.
