Just got back to this amazing mic from my brand-new Samson Q2U, does the job great!

I got this microphone so I could do a bit higher-quality audio recording than just using a gaming headset. For basic operations, it is great; I found that I actually had to keep my mouth almost a foot away from the microphone so that the recording wouldn't peak. It was easy to connect to my laptop via USB, no special drivers or weird setup.My only real objection to this microphone is that it picks everything up. One day, when I was recording, my son came home. I'm in the back of the house, but with a relatively open path (living room, kitchen, dining room). When I played back the recording, I found that it picked up the door opening and closing and his footsteps on the recording. This meant I had to re-do the recording another time. For some applications, this may be desirable, but I did find myself wishing that it would be just a bit less sensitive to far away sounds.

I use this little microphone for my podcasts and when I’m talking to my clients. It works great. What I love about it is I don’t need a headset to connect it to like a blue yeti. Great price.

Great microphone for any type of talking from podcasts to gaming with friends to recording yourself say cool stuff or do some voice acting of your own. I'm very satisfied with the price in relation to the utility. Reccomanding it to everyone

I purchased this mic to do video recordings / voice-overs and unfortunately the sound quality was very lacking for that kind of work. It would be good for online meetings and such, where sound quality isn't very important, but for the price much better microphones are available. I ended up getting a fifine A6T for a few dollars more, and the difference in sound quality is astonishing. I usually love amazonbasics products, but this mic could really use some refinement.

Simple, good quality, great price!

I'd had a USB mic that this replaced; the old one worked fine but had a USB-B socket on it and the slightest bump might disconnect the USB and cause problems with the app I was using. I got this one just to get USB-C, and it's working great! It doesn't have any extra bells or whistles - no gain control, no noise reduction, etc - just a single pushbutton for mute. But that's all I need. Threaded onto my existing boom and replaced the USB-B cord with a USB-C cord, and I'm back in business.It comes with a weighted base and a USB cord, both of which are now cluttering my junk drawer. Personally I'd prefer to buy a mic as a "Component" and not as a system, but I understand not everyone would want that. Nothing deducted from the score on that count, but it WOULD be less wasteful.
