Great for most kitties but takes time for them to get used to.
First of all, give your cat a few days to adjust to this. I almost sent this back because my cat wouldn't eat for about four days but after figuring out this is the only way she's going to get grub, she's fine with it. I only use dry food (my cat won't touch any wet food on the market, and I've tried making homemade stuff like pure fish and she still won't eat it). That said, I can definitely see it being a little too deep for some cats. She leaves a tiny bit on the bottom even when she's really hungry because she decides it's too much work to pull out the 'crumbs'. It hasn't been a problem yet, but it might be for an elderly cat with sensory issues.

Good for slowing down very smart cats
I have two cats that wolf down their food and make themselves sick, one is slowed down by a silicone fish mat with low sides, but my smarter cat just sees this as a strange plate and treats this as such. I figured out why it wasn't working and bought this. She was mad at me for giving her a new dish, she wanted her easy plate that she could wolf down her food off of, protested by refusing to go near the kitty breakfast area. I spent 20 minutes alone with her yesterday while she figured out how to get her small kibble out of here. By this morning, she'd figured it out and was in there for breakfast on her own. It did still slow her down, normally she finishes before the other cat, but she finished after her and was able to get everything out herself. I don't mind the lack of slip resistance because my cat slides it around to help get a better angle on it to get the food out. The design is good for smart cats that are stubborn but eat way too quickly. It's a good activity in the morning for my smart cat and now that she's figured it out, she doesn't need my help. I have three cats, so having two dishes will be useful. For size reference, my smart cat is 10 pounds and the dish is a good size for her. She hasn't thrown up since I bought this.

Worked Immediately! No more cat puke!
I highly recommend this silicone slow feeder. My 17-year old (newly adopted) cat had the habit of quickly eating her kibble then regurgitating it moments later. After switching to this slow feeder the regurgitating stopped immediately! What a relief! Kitty had no complaints about the new slow feeder (and she absolutely would let me know if she had any).I also tried a ceramic version but I wasn't comfortable about the hard ceramic on her teeth it's also a great value. I also love that this is a 2-pack, one to use and one to wash. It holds about ¼ cup of cat kibble.I've deducted one star for the color options and the unnecessary cat ear shapes which awkwardly stick out from the side of the feeder. A round shape with neutral color options would be ideal!

Fat cat inhibitor
My cat is the type to inhale her food in 10 seconds and wonder where it went. This forces her to eat more mindfully and as a result she gets a chance to feel full for longer. This is great

Very effective
My boys are (ahem...) 'big boned'. I feel guilty leaving an empty bowl, and a free feeder allows for excessive grazing behavior. This bowl considerably slows down their eating pace which improves digestion. I've noticed a significant reduction in the amount of dry food consumed over the last 4-5 days with this product. I love it!

Have Dish, Will Travel
I have 2 gluttonous felines who tend to snarf their meals in a matter of minutes, though thankfully they are not pukers. I decided to give these a try in an attempt to slow them down a bit. And in that respect, they have worked, and I have learned to look away from the death glares these two shoot my way. However, the reviews which called attention to the slippage factor are spot on. While the cats are vigorously extracting their food from the spiral maze, the dish is traveling in all directions, despite starting out on non-slip mats. One cat eats in the laundry area and I keep having to fish the dish out from under the washing machine, a situation which is NOT going to continue. So I would rate this item as only a partial success, and would probably not recommend it.

The only food bowls I'll use for my kitties!
I bought these when we only had one cat. She was 6 years old at the time and would scarf her food down without chewing it, throw up, then eat the throw up and beg for more food. This slow feeder is her lifesaver! She grazes when she's hungry now, and I keep it mostly filled in between her routine feeding times. Her weight is managed better, she doesn't endure whisker fatigue since it's better shaped to avoid that, and it's kinda fun to fill up. My kitten hates it because it prevents him from scarfing his food down. His gets filled a little more than hers since he's a growing boy and has a heartier appetite than she does.

Great product!
I really like these feeders, but I don’t reccomend getting a set with the white/cream colored one, because for some reason it’s turning discolored and getting moldy if it sits in the sink, to the point where I threw it away. I’ve had no problem at all with the purple one, keeping a close eye on it to make sure the color isn’t fooling me😅 I plan to buy more variations, (and also get better at rinsing them out after the cats eat🤦🏽♀️)It does help a little with slowing down the cats eating, but my cats won’t eat dry food out of them, only wet food (which is fine for me). It did take a few weeks for one of my cats to actually start eating from it, but once she realized that was the only way I’d give her wet food she slowly started eating more of it again. She would practically inhale her food before so I’m very pleased!!
