This is a keeper!
This is one of those books you can go back to time after time. I first read this cover to cover and it was awesome, even as a person who does a lot of network automation this books gave me so much information. You can tell that the authors have put a lot of thought into each chapter so people get the most of each example and code sample. I often go back to this books when i want to refresh on something i have not used in a while and it is serving me well. Huge thanks to all those who made this books really awesome.

Outstanding book, full of practical/workable examples.
This is an outstanding book and really gives the reader a real world perspective on the wave of automation that is starting to impact Networking Industry. It is also up to date and honest enough to suggest that while the Openflow/SDN protocol is the catalyst of this shift in thinking, Openflow itself is unlikely to be adopted on a wide scale by the Enterprise market.The book introduces the reader to the programmatic tool set a Network Engineer will require in this new world and gives solid and practical examples. The common mantra in discussion boards is "Learn Python". This book will more than introduce you to Python, in addition to all the other tools that Python glues together {Ansible, YANG, jinja and others}

Easy to follow.
This book is easy to follow and very structured. It offers good definitions for the various terminologies around SDN and provides a solid foundation. The real trick is applying the concepts in a real environment(lab preferably at first ;) ) but you should have the foundations after reading this book.
