Worth it for me.
I had my ethernet cable running down the stairs to the router. I (the wife) got fed up of the mess so I did some research on the best wireless adapter and this kept coming up in the top 10. There are some really expensive ones and this was the most reasonable for performance. I was a little nervous though due to the £80 price tag but went for it.On arrival, (took 2 days), I followed the installation instructions, instead of my usual 'I know what I'm doing'. I have no CD drive so went to the net gear support website to download the driver software. I usually just get the drivers for this kind of install, instead of the full bundle software utility. This time I played safe, due to some of the reviews of difficulties with it on windows 10, and installed the full package. (It's not really needed as it's just basically a network selection utility and performance monitor but it's fairly light).I plugged in the adapter into the magnetic base and into the USB 3 port on my PC and BOOM! there it was. Connected to my WiFi and BOOM! Speeds just as fast as the ethernet. I'm only on a 200mbps connection from my provider, (so can't vouch for the advertised max speed of it) and this adapter is giving me a WiFi connection of 217mbps. My PC is upstairs and in the room above the router, so it's not really testing it I guess.Been running for 2 weeks with no issues at all, no drops in speed, no disconections. It is a big adapter but not as big as some. I guess if you want to pick up strong signals you need a big reciever. The magnetic base is great too, my desk has metal vertical plates on the side and it sticks there no problem. All out of sight. Hasn't moved and the adapter hasn't fallen out of the base, it's got a good solid USB connector on it.Will update if I notice any issues but I don't think I will.

Just like ethernet connection
Bought this as I couldn't get a wired connection to my router 3 rooms away in my new flat. Before I used this I had very bad signal that would sometimes drop and disconnect me, and always had very bad lag while gaming. After using this its like I've got a wired connection again, went from average of 100-200 ms latency in games to a stable constant 15-20ms. Would recommend, only issue I found is the cable that comes with the base is a bit too short and stiff.

Outstanding For Gaming and all streaming and browsing
Amazing best gaming and hd streaming adapter at the moment. Does not drop connection set up correctly. Highly recommended. You will need to download the software and I had to tweak the driver settings too to stop it going off. Once your setup this runs like a dream. It's outstanding and I came from a cable setup to this as I did research and I thought this was the best, and I have not been disappointed. It just feel as though I am on a cable setup as its so fast and stable. I am on Windows 10 Pro, so for those saying this does not run on Windows 10 it's not true and can only be that they have not set it up right. I use mine for gaming and surfing the net and find it perfect. I have had mine now a couple of years and it's never let me down. I use it on a gaming desktop and have also used it on my laptop with no issue. Do your homework and set it up right. Read the paper work and watch a Youtube video if needed and you will have no issues.

Defective drivers!
On Windows you need to manually install the driver. The driver comes with a piece of poor software that you can't uninstall (without losing the driver as well). The first connection after boot works: you connect to WiFi and the Internet. But every other connection attempt to any network will result in no Internet after that - WiFi connects but no Internet. I used this with my desktop, but imagine using it on a laptop... You go to a cafe, boot your PC and connect to the cafe's network; then you go home and try to connect to your own network. Nope, you have to reboot or else it won't work. Also, if you want to use this on Linux you need to compile the driver yourself, because it's not in the mainline kernel. It's an expensive WiFi adapter but it's worth less to me than the cheaper ones. Having excellent signal is useless if you can't connect at all.

Excellent performance
Bought this to replace a tp link archer which from day one was so hot it was bordering on dangerous, this net gear ac7000 has one drawback and that’s the god awful genie software it’s an abomination and should be scrapped, best way to install this is to install the genie software and when it pops up on screen kill ir via task manager, then go into the folder it installed to c/program files/ac7000 for me inside there is the drivers folder copy this folder somewhere safe, then uninstall the genie software and manually install the drivers via Device manager from the folder you copied. I used this method and to test it logged onto my neighbours Wi-Fi with there permission and hit 300 Meg from there 350 Meg virgin. Been rock solid and cool to touch highly recommend.

Very large wifi adapter
The adapter works fine enough, getting speeds of 200-250Mbps (it's only wifi5), but it's very large. Didn't check the physical specs before buying, but didnt expect such a difference to my old USB dongle (pictured for comparison). The magnetic stand is at least useful for attaching this monstrosity to a computer case.

Great Product!
I had an older WiFi adapter for my PC and was seeing intermittent connection issues that were causing me a lot of frustration.I got this adapter in the hope that it would improve my connection to the router in the room next door. After replacing the old adapter with this, my download speeds have doubled and the connection issues no longer occur. It's a godsend for always online games that disconnect you once your WiFi connection drops. I've seen an improvement in my latency in online games as well.Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase!
