Brilliant.Definitely should be there next to the statement "Don't judge a book by it's cover".The book would have benefited from a bit more production value, as you can't under-estimate the impact a well-produced book has on the reader's ability to digest the pages - even a change of font from Times New Roman might have helped you to lose the idea that it's a self-published book.Despite the proof reading that was credited towards the rear, there were plenty of off-putting spelling mistakes (and I recall sentences that just didn't read very well due to missing words or random full stops) too.Despite all this, the book is genuinely hilarious in places, which each anecdote being of several pages, making it digestible as a pick-up and put-down read. Very similar in format and tone to the Clarkson books, which is no insult.

As a dyed-in-the-wool petrolhead of a certain age, I really enjoyed this book, as I fully expected to. Lots of great anecdotes, wrapped up in an entertaining (if a little short) book. To be fair to Rich (the author), his next book (which I've already signed up to buy) will be a lot longer. Looking forward to it already! Back to this book, I can recommend it to the car mad person in your life!

Some great stories in there!

I bought this book on a recommendation but I have to say I was a little disappointed. It looks and feels like a self-produced title which wasn't what I expected - it's not terrible by any means, but just a little sloppy in places with editing and formatting. It's mildly entertaining but always sort of feels like the really interesting stories have been held back, a few times there are comments along the lines of 'if only I could tell you about that' which is frustrating. I'm trying to be honest about it - it's a decent enough little book, but you won't come out of it much wiser or feeling any different.

Well worth a good read.

A light reading and very fun... For those who loves stories from the car industry.A pity that it's so short.

Mr Duisberg shows why the British approach to manufacturing works so well - and why it doesn't! "Give it a go" is right for Formula One or a spacecraft, perhaps a bit less suitable for a Rover.

Das Buch ist ganz angenehm zu lesen, der Auto beschreibt seine Erlebnisse in Kurzgeschichten von im Schnitt 2-3 Seiten. Manche der Erzählungen sind ganz witzig, man sollte aber gewisse Hintergründe der britischen Automobilindustrie und ihrer Historie kennen. Die Geschichten aus ausländischen Fabriken sind aber auch interessant.Der Druck des Buches ist leider qualitativ unzureichend. Teilweise sieht das Schriftbild aus als hätte jemand im Tonersparmodus gedruckt - die Buchstaben sind ausgefranzt und nicht mal richtig schwarz.Ich finde den Preis für das Gebotene zu hoch.
