One year later
I've had my switchbot S10 for about a year and am pleased with it on the whole. It's not a perfect machine, but the things it does well are both unique and excellent. The standout feature is clearly the self draining/filling. It was finicky to get set up, but once it got set up it was great. We did have a problem where the water station stopped working, but the company was quick to send a replacement that has been working ever since.First, Some pros:- it cleans well when maintained. That is the biggest reason why anyone would buy this and I'm happy to report it has met or exceeded my expectations for its ability to clean.- The mapping and navigation generally seems excellent. It gets a little confused by mirrors, but it knows my house well and doesn't bumble around crashing into things to clean.- we have tile, so can't comment on the quality of it cleaning carpetSome cons:The area near the water station (on the ground) and charging station will get dirty and need to be manually cleaned. It doesn't have a perfect way of preventing dirty water from dripping when it disconnects, so it gets pretty filthy.My water station broke at one point, see above, but your milage may varyIt does need to be cleaned relatively frequently, but that is just the nature of every machineIt handles transitions from one medium to another not well. One of our rooms has a workout mat that it can't climb up on without help and can't get off of well either.On the whole, I'm really pleased with the product. It's not perfect, but at its core it does what it is designed to do (clean your home) well, consistently, and without much intervention. I would buy it again, especially as the price has gone down relative to my purchase

Hesitate to purchase
Having owned an iRobot s9 for years, we appreciated the vacuuming power until an update changed the way it operated. After several tech reviews from people we’ve followed for years gave the Switchbot glowing reviews, we decided to get it. Primarily, the water exchange station made it most appealing. That is where the positive review begins and ends. The robot itself is terrible at vacuuming and even worse at mopping. After only a few months, error after error plagued the robot. The help center arranged to ship it for “repair” and after a few weeks it was returned to us. Now it operates even worse than before. While I admit that the water exchange station is a great idea, it does not help the robot perform the actual vacuuming and mopping it should be doing. If I could return it, I would. Glad we kept the iRobot because at least it vacuumed really well, just got stuck a lot. Any robot in the future will be intensely tested the first week and if any doubt remains, will be returned immediately (which is what we should have done with this)Update:We’re fast approaching a month after SwitchBot customer service reached out and offered a Full Refund. I responded exactly as requested in order to receive the refund. After much back and forth since then, I have yet to receive this promised Full Refund. The customer service appears, to me, to be fully automated and extremely frustrating. At this point, I’m completely unwilling to ever purchase any other product from this company. Products are, at best, average and the poor customer service compounds that experience.

May need a firmware update upon set up to function
Update: After a firmware update, the machine started working. Why it doesn't check for firmware updates upon initial set up is beyond me. Now that it is functioning, it does a decent job of vacuuming and seems to have excellent battery life. Haven't tried the mop feature yet, but 🤞 that works well too.I purchased the Switchbot S10 during Prime days this year and was so excited to receive it. I absolutely love the concept and the idea of turning my floor cleaning into an automated (mostly) hands off routine was sooooo appealing! I had no issues getting the docking station hooked up (plug and play), a few issues finding the correct plumbing attachments to hook up the water station supply line to my washing machine hose (relatively minor), but ALL the issues once I actually tried to get the robot to do anything through the app. The robot was fully charged (had been charging for a day before I was able to get the correct plumbing bits to hook up the water station), I had the latest version of the app, and no available firmware updates showing in the app. I was able to connect the robot to the app on my phone and wifi, but that's when everything stopped working. Every time I try to set up the robot in the app, as soon as it gets to the fast map stage, I get an error message stating "A system error occurred and your robot could not continue working. Please try restarting your robot." I have reset and restarted the robot multiple times. The error clears until the next attempt at fast mapping and then happens again. The robot motor volume increases like it is about to move off the dock and start mapping, but then it tells me it is "charging", the buttons all start flashing orange, and the error message shows up in the app. This thing is BRAND NEW and I can't even get it to move off the dock. What a joke!
