Really like this safe!
Impressed by this gun safe. It comes with two, manual keys, plus you can use a passcode, and/or a fingerprint scanner to open it. I really like having multiple options to unlock it. It also has a USB cable in case the batteries (4 AAA not provided) get low and you need to keep it charged. It comes with screws to mount. The case is sturdy, good foam, and a bright light on the inside. I like the time, date, temp, and humidity display. Easy to set up. Really enjoying this safe!

Great Little Gun Safe.
The Grimtron biometric gun safe is a great bedside safe. If you are looking for a bedside gun safe then this is it, I was able to set the 6-digit code and scan my finger quickly. The only thing I noticed is that you have to make sure when you put your code in is that it registers the button press. I had an issue with putting my code in and it is missing the first number. I had to push the first number twice to start. I have not set the time, date and other information yet. You can put a handgun and several clips in this little safe with ease. I haven’t had it long enough to see what battery life is. I will say it does have a quitter opening sound than my old one which is nice. Overall, for the price you get a lot of features and added protection and safety for your weapon storage needs.

Good and solid
Product is really good, was easy to set up, the fingerprint reading works nicely and promptly opens the safe. The size was just perfect for a canik tp9sfx and 2 mags.

Nothing better out there for the price
This is the best portable gun safe I have owned. I've owned about a dozen of them and all of them had their flaws. This one suffers only one small flaw: a rechargeable battery. It takes 4-AAA batteries which I have installed but it'll be months or possibly years before they need replacing. I'll update if I feel they die prematurely. The battery/date/time/humidity/temp screen activates for a few seconds when the safe is activated or touched. This will probably not be very often unless you're a daily-carry user. In this case battery life will inevitably be shorter. Your mileage may vary. The container is very secure. The steel has a satisfactory thickness to it. The hinge is semi-exposed, the pin looks like a friction fit and I can't tell if it is riveted in. There is ample room for a full sized 1911 pistol. If you have red-dot, it's probably going to be a tight squeeze. Measure yours accordingly.Fit and finish is really good overall. I like the wrinkle paint. It has open-cell egg-crate foam that is plenty soft enough to pad your items. One face on the inside is not padded, so if you do not have your case secured in a fixed position, handling it may cause some bumps and scratches. I would probably throw in an absorbent pouch as I have not had luck with open-cell foam and steel. Mine lays nearly perfectly flat but it has a slight warp and rocks on a hard surface.Programming the date and time is easy, requiring just the "1", "2", and "6" buttons. The biometric requires just a button press (on the inside) and 4 presses of whatever finger you choose. You can program multiple fingers -up to 20 if I remember. From finger press to open takes about 2.5 seconds and a soft white LED lights up the contents, good enough for a dark room. It can be temporarily powered with a USB-C cable in case your batteries fail. As a last resort 2 unique keys can open the case and this special lock can not be easily picked. As far as emergency safes go, this is one of the best on the market and hands down the best one I have owned. If I could make one change, it would be to add a 10-digit keypad so I can match other combinations I may have. These faults are so insignificant that they really should not affect your decision when choosing this biometric safe. It's a great machine to have, and having access to it's contents in an emergency is peace of mind. I'm glad I have it and I feel it's worth every penny.

A really nice safe, but some flaws.
The media could not be loaded. Got this knowing that I may not get a gun to put in it, but a biometric safe for other belongs? Heck yeah. Really top notch safe, too. Heavy, good build quality, the interface is simple once you understand how to navigate it.However, there are some flaws. Once, as you may notice in the image, it's humidity sensor is.. lacking.. to say the least. I measured with a different humidity sensor that, while not the most accurate thing in the world, several other sensors of different brand types are in agreement, so the safe is under reporting its humidity quite a bit. I couldn't find a way to calibrate, so not sure if it's correctable.Next, it says you can't use rechargeable batteries. I don't know what that is, I haven't looked it up yet but I will check. It can't be because of corrosion, NiMH doesn't corrode like Alkaline, but maybe it's due to improper reads on the battery life? I have fully charged rechargables in it and the batteries are stating they're low, but that's not true. They're fresh. Also, if the batteries die, all but the fingerprints and key code data are lost. So date is gone, etc. It's annoying, but not the end of the world. If you have a permanent USB-C power going to it, shouldn't be that big of a deal. Finally, and this is big, getting into it is pretty simple, you have up to 20 different fingerprints you can add to its memory, but once in it (key, code, whatever), the programming button is just inside and there's literally no requirement to enter the code or anything to ensure the person in it is the right one. So, you leave it accidentally open? Well, someone sneaky enough can scan their fingerprint in a matter of minutes, get it registered, and then they can open it whenever they want, without you knowing. Don't need to know the code.Overall, really nice safe, but that security flaw is a big oversight. There should be at least SOME method to disallow adding fingerprints without knowing the code or not having the key or something. That's just some bad 80's hacky stuff you see in McGyver or something.
