Very fast and quiet HDD great if you cannot afford a 2TB SSD. Survived poor packaging too.
I've used these Firecuda hard drives several times, they are fast and quiet. To get the speed boost commonly accessed programs need to be loaded a couple of times before they are cached to the onboard SSD buffer. This works well both as a secondary drive for data and a boot drive as it can improve boot times significantly. Ideal for gamers as loading times are significantly reduced. Not as fast as a dedicated SSD but much faster than an ordinary hard drive that does not have a SSD cache built in.Great alternative if you can't afford a 2TB SSD but want faster loading times. Shame Seagate have discontinued the 3.5" versions of the Firecuda drives so had to buy from Amazon. I noticed Seagate have updated their branding and logo for the Firecuda range using a dragon instead. This one was brand new but is one year old however still has 4 years left on Seagate's warranty. This was purchased to replaced a failed SSHD that was 6 years old and I have noticed it is faster than the old one when it was working.

Great drive, if a little noisy
Not done any serious benchmarking with this but suffice to say it definitely seems to be a step-up speed-wise from a standard drive (although obviously short of a true SSD). It is standard size however I think it uses every available mm so if it is going in a particularly tight case/enclosure then it might be a squeeze. Only issue I have is it puts out a lot of vibrations which can make it noisy. I originally put it in an external enclosure sat on a wooden desk but the hum drove me mad until I placed it on some foam so you might want to use it with some sort of dampening.

Incredible SSHD
This SSHD is so fast especially when i have it paired up with a Samsung 970 Evo Plus had to change my HDD since it had the click of death. I wanted more space cause my last drive was 1TB so went with the 2TB instead so much of an improvement over a standard HDD i recommend this 100% Over time it should learn your usage patterns so get faster since it has onboard NAND Flash.

Labeled as a Firecuda but was an old Surveillance drive with a different serial number to the label
Bought this last year and only installed in December. Decided to register in January and went onto the Seagate website. Entered the serial number on the label and it came up with no result. "Contact your supplier" message appered so downloaded the seagate serial number tool and a different serial number appeared. More and more suspicious. Went to Seagate site again to reister, entered the new serial number and out popped a Surveillance HDD with a warranty that expired in june 2014!!! The Firecuda is supposed to have a 5 year warranty from purchase which should have made it November 2025!! Went straight to Amazon rather than the supplier as this is supplying old drives for new as well, so in my eyes something Amazon needs to take up with the supplier. Amazon customer service was awesome and are processing as we speak.

Perfectly fine drive
The first drive was dead-on-arrival, but amazon replaced it without any fuss and it's now running fine.
